The Lexington Eagles finished fourth in their own tourney this past weekend. The Eagles defeated Burton, lost to St. Andrews, and to Bastrop. Lexington topped Granger Tuesday night 10-8 in Granger. The Eagles rallied for five runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 7-4 lead. Lexington then held on for the win. The Lady Eagles went to the Taylor Softball Tourney sporting an 11- 1 record and feeling invincible. That stopped in Taylor against some quality opponents. Mackenzie Brown was chosen All-district by the 27-AA coaches in voting held after the basketball season. The diminutive junior guard led the Lady Eagles in scoring, assists, and bruises during the 2011- 12 season. Christen Schneider was voted to the second team by district coaches. The Lady Eagles would not be denied Tuesday night as they pounded Thorndale 17-2 in the district opener for both teams. Lexington scored early and often as they moved out to the lead.
