Funeral services for Clarence Gerlach, 92 of Giddings, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings, Texas with Rev. John Waak officiating. Burial will follow in Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings, Texas. The family will be present Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Clarence William Gerlach was born on December 31, 1929 in Giddings, Texas to Richard and Annie (Witte) Gerlach. He was baptized on February 2, 1930 and was confirmed on April 18, 1943.

Clarence worked for Lee County doing road maintenance for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working cattle, watching the wildlife on his family land, and watching old westerns. Clarence looked forward to spending time with his family and friends.

Clarence passed away the morning of Sunday, June 12, 2022 in Kyle, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Annie Gerlach; one brother, Gilbert & Helen Gerlach, and one sister, Gloria & Elton Iselt.

Clarence is survived by his six nieces and nephews, Gilbert & Susan Gerlach of Huntsville, Annie & Ed Beltran of Giddings, Richard Gerlach of Giddings, Ava & Robert Covazos of Rockdale, Carl Iselt of Giddings, and Ronnie Iselt of Lexington, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gilbert Gerlach, Richard Gerlach, Ed Beltran, Justin Pharr, Woodrow Beltran, and Carl Iselt.

Memorials may be made to the NRA or Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings.
