Bobbie Louis Bell, 91, of Rockdale, previously of Lexington, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 in Elgin.

Bobbie was born on July 28, 1931 to Luke and Lena (Watkins) Bell in Littlefield, Texas.

He attended school in Littlefield and took some courses at 4C College in Waco. While in Waco, he met and fell in love with Jean Smith. The two were married on September 9, 1951 in Waco.

Bobbie proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He worked for ALCOA for 24 years until his retirement in 1994.

From a young age Bobbie was preaching all across Texas. He was a founding member of the Lexington Church of Christ as well as the preacher for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He loved getting the family together. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a member of the American Legion in Lexington. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Lena Bell; brothers, Foy Dale Bell and wife Joan, and Edward Lee Bell and wife Dorothy; and brother-in-law, Reggie Cooper. Bobbie is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Jean Bell of Rockdale; son, Mike Bell and wife Dianne of Lexington; daughter, Debbie Hughes of Granger; Michael Von Rosenberg and wife Rhonda of Rockdale; grandchildren, Malvinlee Von Rosenberg and wife Cindy, Christina Becvar and husband Kent, Danielle Hamende and husband Scott, and Joshua Bell; great-grandchildren, Joseph Becvar, David Becvar, Grace Becvar, Nicholas Hamende, Tyler Hamende, Jase Hamende, Matthew Hamende, Alexis Bell, and Brenden Bell; sisters, Molly Culp and husband Dewayne of Waco, and Carolyn Cooper of Ft. Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Bob Pipes officiating. Serving as pallbearers are his grandchildren and honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandchildren.
