County COVID Numbers Unchanged

Lee County COVID confirmed cases remain unchanged at six. Three cases have recovered and three cases are reported as active. For more information, call the COVID-19 Call Center at 866-686-7873. Lexington Mayor Allen Retzlaff echoed Judge Fischer, saying, “We strongly encourage when leaving the home to maintain social distancing and to practice good hygiene, environmental cleanliness, and sanitation.”

Trooper Recovering

DPS Trooper Cameron Janda is recovering following an automobile accident he had last Tuesday afternoon on Hwy 77 just north of Loop 123 in Lexington during one of the many downpours we had that day. His office reported Monday that he is good and looking forward to getting back to work soon.

Severe Weather Threatens County

Last Tuesday, severe weather threatened the entire county as the National Weather Bureau issued Tornado Warnings for the area beginning at 11:30 and continuing until after 1 pm. At least two tornadoes were reported to have touched down, one between Giddings and Paige, which uprooted trees, ripped the roof off at least on home and damaged at least one barn. […]
