Lexington Log Cabins Receive Grant from Alcoa

The Lexington Log Cabins and Heritage Society is located in downtown Lexington.
- The Lexington Log Cabins and Heritage Society received notice this week that the Alcoa Foundation has approved a $5,000 grant for use in the new Heritage Center located north of the Square in downtown Lexington.

The new 1,800 square foot facility is nearing completion on the outside and will eventually provide climate-controlled storage, ADA restrooms, an administrative office, a meeting room, a research library and workspace for the local museum.

Kay Van Dorn, President of the Lexington Log Cabins, said, “We are so excited that Alcoa is participating in this wonderful community undertaking. We appreciate their support and all the support we have had from citizens, organizations and, of course, from all of our volunteers.”
