New Building for Police Department

Lexington Police Chief Randall Davis
- Will the Lexington Police Department get a new building soon? Some on the City Council are considering just that. The Lexington City Council will meet Wednesday, March 16, and one of their agenda items is to “consider and act on purchase of new building for Police Department”.

Mayor Robert Willrich, Sr., said, “The proposal will be for a portable building to be moved on the Square on the City’s lot north of the Woodson Community Building. The City owns the lot, having paid $25,000 for the lot a few years ago. There are four other undeveloped lots around the Square.

Lexington’s Police Department has been operating out of one room in the City Hall Building for a number of years. There are currently four police officers who work for the City of Lexington. Chief Randall Davis heads the department that includes Officers B.J. Connolly, Garnett Damewood, and Josh Daniels.
