“Can You Hear Me Now?”

New Sound System for the Square

Lexington's Gazebo on the Square will be the center of activity during the Homecoming weekend. Parade watchers will be able to relax under the shade trees of the Square and hear the parade announcer clearly.
- Just in time for Homecoming, the Lexington Chamber of Commerce has installed a new sound system on the Square. The sound system was initiated by the Chamber and became a community-wide project.

The system was paid for by the Chamber, the Lexington Lions Club, and the Lexington EDC. City workers installed the system, which will get its first official use during the upcoming Homecoming celebration, April 28 – May 1.

The state-of-the-art system has several speakers mounted throughout the Square, one at each of the four corners of the Square, two mounted halfway along the east and west perimeters of the Square, and speakers covering the west side of the Square near the Chamber Building and north of the Square at Lexington’s historic log cabins.
