LCRA Employees Donate $31,000 to Help Needy Get Food

Lee County Pantries Receive Donations

Lee County Commissioners' Court
- The Regular Meeting of the Lee County Commissioners’ Court was held on Monday, October 25. In the meeting, the Commissioners approved a bid on some 5.4 Acres of land on CR 141 of $5,500. This land currently has back taxes and this bid amount will resolve the account.

They also approved a contract and interlocal agreement with the City of Lexington and the Lexington Volunteer EMS which is in line with the Contract previously signed by the City of Lexington and the Lexington EMS. This will clear the way for the Lexington EMS to continue to serve the north part of Lee County.

Fuel and oil bids were opened and the bid from Lee County Petroleum was accepted. There were two other bids, but one bid only allocated for supplying the oil for the County and the other contained no bid numbers at all.

The Commissioners also acted to accept participation in the CAPCO Emergency Notification System, agreeing to pay up to $1,053 in yearly costs. The Emergency Notification System is a computerized method of notifying residents in the vicinity of an emergency by phone when an evacuation is required. This process can only be triggered by authorized Emergency Personnel and could be used in the event of such things as a Hazardous Materials incident or a tornado.

Carol Dismukes, Lee County Clerk, reported that there have already been over 1,000 early votes cast. This over twice the number cast in the last Presidential Election. As a consequence, the Lee County Clerk’s office will be closed to all except election related duties starting at 1 pm on Monday, November 2, and extending through Tuesday, November 3.
