For the Children Asks for Donations

- For the Children is a non-profit organization started five years ago for the sole purpose of helping our communities’ children in need. In these five years, they have helped over 175 children with everything from new shoes, coats, clothing for school, to food for them and their families, and other very important individual needs. They have been able to accomplish these things with a very small budget through private donations from caring folks, organizations, and area churches. There are children with greater needs than For the Children has been able to help, because they simply do not have the money to do so. They would like to expand their outreach to have a broader impact on more children’s lives by working with professionals to help provide positive, life-altering changes that may help the way these very special kids feel about themselves.

Jenny Lu Jones, one of the organizers of For the Children said, “Our resources are small, and to grow, we need help from other individuals and organizations that have bigger and better contacts and funding than we can provide.” If you would like to help, please contact us at For the Children, Lexington Independent School District, P. O. Box 248, Lexington, Texas 78947, Attn: Jenny Lu Jones.

The Christmas Season is also the Season for Giving, and with that in mind, the Leader will be showcasing area organizations which are in need of funds or other type of help this season. Please contact the Leader your information.
