The Tanglewood Volunteer Fire Department would like to wish Minerva Volunteer Fire Department a very Merry Christmas!
The Minerva VFD donated the best Christmas gift a VFD could ever receive, a pumper truck. MVFD was receiving a new 500-gallon pumper truck from Alcoa and needed to make room for it. Learning of the need to donate the pumper truck they already had, Tanglewood VFD submitted a letter of request for the truck. The request was honored and now the Tanglewood VFD would like to thank Minerva VFD and it’s members for this much appreciated donation.
TVFD had only one brush truck, which was not equipped to handle structure fires. With the donated pumper truck, TVFD is now better equipped to serve the Tanglewood community and assist other fire departments when needed.
Representatives of TVFD went to Minerva Monday week, December 13, officially accepting the donation and concluding all necessary transfers. The pumper truck is now parked at the TVFD building located on Lee County CR 415.
The annual TVFD Mexican Supper fund raiser will be held on Friday, February 18, 2005. Everyone is invited to drop by, look at new pumper truck, enjoy a meal, participate in the TVFD raffle, and just have an all around good time visiting with each other.
Tanglewood Fire Chief, Douglas Simpson, and the entire department wishes everyone “Happy Holidays to All” and remember to practice Fire Safety!
