The Lexington Volunteer EMS wants to say “Thank You” to those who responded to last week’s Lexington Leader article. We have had several calls from people who want to volunteer for the class and two who are already EMTs have volunteered to help. We still have room for a few more to volunteer for the class.
However, if you don’t feel that you can serve as an EMT, you could volunteer by providing a scholarship for the class or for books. The class will cost $350 and the books are about $100. If you would like to make a donation, make it to Lexington Volunteer EMS and mark it for class or books. Please mail it to LVEMS at PO Box 245, Lexington, TX 78947. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
The class will probably begin on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 and continue through May 26, 2005. Those who receive a scholarship will sign up to work with our service for a minimum of two years or they will have to repay it. They will be obligating themselves to over 120 classroom hours, 20 hours at a hospital and 3 ambulance runs and then to run with the EMS.
You have always responded graciously to the needs of YOUR EMS and for this we a grateful. We still depend on you to help keep YOUR EMS alive and active. Again, Thanks for your help!
Call if you are still interested in being a part of the class, 979-773-4077
