Lexington Woman Robbed in Wal-Mart Parking Lot

Nina Cooper Ramsey of Lexington was robbed while in her car in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Giddings on Thursday night, January 13. According to the Giddings Police Department, officers Jesus Valles and Christopher Law were dispatched to the Wal-Mart at 11:33 pm Thursday night. Upon arrival, the officer met with Ramsey who stated that she had been shopping and then walked out to her car.
As Ramsey started her vehicle, a man opened the passenger door of her vehicle and grabbed her wallet from the console. Officer Valles stated that the suspect was described as a black male wearing a black hooded sweater and blue jeans, approximately 5’10" with a thin build.
The GPD report indicated that Ramsey began yelling and tried to run after the man. Two female witnesses said they saw a man running towards the back of the Ford dealership west of Wal-Mart. Officer Valles reported that the witnesses were unable to be located after the police’s initial investigation. The police were unsuccessful in locating the suspect. The case is pending further investigation. Ramsey reported her driver’s license, social security card, vehicle insurance cards and cash were in the wallet at the time of the burglary.
