LCRA Gives $16,100 Grant for Park Building Improvementsfont>
-
Lexington’s Community Enterprises will be able to go a long way with finishing the Park Building renovation project with the help of a $16,100 matching community development grant given to them by LCRA.
The grant, provided by the City of Lexington and LCRA, will be used to renovate the restrooms in the building, making them ADA accessible.
Cindy Herklotz, who serves on the Park Board said, “We are truly excited to receive this grant. Since this is a matching grant, we are in the process of allocating the funding to meet the match and get started on the 11-Stall ADA Restroom Addition. We are very grateful to the City and LCRA for this generous gift.”
The community grant is one of a number of grants recently awarded through LCRA’s Community Development Partnership Program. The program provides economic development and community assistance grants to cities, counties, volunteer fire departments, regional development councils and other nonprofit organizations in LCRA’s electric and water service areas as part of LCRA’s effort to give back to the communities it serves. The City of Lexington is one of LCRA’s 42 wholesale electric customers and a partner in the grant program.
