Sept. 1, 1910 – March 24, 2006 Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 28, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale for Mrs. Willard Carver, 95, who passed away on March 24, 2006 at the Winnie L. Nursing Home in Cameron. Rev. Dan Pike of First Christian Church in Rockdale officiated. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Mrs. Carver was born on September 1, 1910 at Sandy Creek Community near Rockdale. Her parents were Marshall Guy and Hattie Ethel (Harris) Clymore. She married Harvis Franklin (Harvey) Carver on December 16, 1952 at First Christian Church in Rockdale She was a life long resident of Rockdale. She worked at the Dairy Queen, then as a clerk at Mehaffey’s Department Store and the Mary Ann Dress Store, all in Rockdale. She was a long time member of First Christian Church in Rockdale. She is survived by her sons, Charles Eugene Davenport of Houston and Larry Wayne Davenport of Allendale, AZ; her daughter, Wilma Jean Fritz of Montgomery, TX; daughter-in-law, Eudie Hembrough of Minerva; sisters, Bessie Robinson of Rockdale, and LaNelle Barry of San Marcos. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, son, Weldon Dean Davenport, grandson, Steven Richard Fritz, brother-in-law, Claude Robinson and her parents. June 13, 1927 – March 16, 2006 Bill Ebert has left what he referred to as “too fast paced” world to go fishing forever in heaven. He passed away March 16, 2006 at 11:30 pm at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Matilda Ebert. His father was born in Houston and his mother came here from Germany. Bill was born in Galveston, Texas. He was raised in Illinois until he moved to Virginia in 1967, where he lived on the ocean until he came to Lexington 10 years ago to be close to his daughter Kathy and grandson Lonnie for the duration of his life. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Samson (formerly Bellview), husband, Steve, and grandson Lonnie Bellview all of Lexington. Bill is also survived by Billy Ebert and wife Cindy of Serena, Ill., Billy Jr., Tony and Josh Ebert (Grandkids) all of Illinois. Bill treasured the many friends he made here in Lexington. Memorial service will be held at his daughter’s new home in Elgin on Saturday, April 8 at 2 PM. Directions: 696 toward Elgin to 619. Right on 619 to Willow Rd., Left on Willow Rd to Trailside Drive. Turn right to 1100 Trailside Drive. March 6, 1931 – March 23, 2006 Felix Ordones, Sr. was born on March 6, 1931 in Waco to Dioncia and Manuela (Hernandez) Ordones. He was a leadman for the Rockdale Sandow and Southern Railroad for 19 years. On June 8, 1962, he married Ruth Mendoza in Marlin, Texas. Felix passed away on March 23, 2006 at the Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Rev. Edwin Kagoo conducted funeral services at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale on March 27. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Pallbearers were Raymond Mendoza Sr., Raymond Mendoza, Jr. Ray Rubio, Diego Montelongo, Jr., David Valverde and Joe Cortez, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant daughter, Tommie Annette Ordones. Surviving are his wife, Ruth of Rockdale, sons Raymond Mendoza and Felix Ordones, Jr. and wife Michelle also of Rockdale; daughter, Manuela Stevens of Arlington; brothers, (twins) Frank of Ft. Worth, and Ernest of Waco, Johnny and Dioncia of Waco, and sister Lupe Ordones of Waco. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Raymond Mendoza, Jr., Janie Mendoza, Tonia Mendoza and Alex Mendoza. |
