Ruth Rowland Blackwell

July 27, 1957 – June 4, 2006

Ruth Rowland Blackwell, 48, of Type, Texas, passed away on June 4, 2006 at her home. She had lived in Type for the past 11 years, having lived previously in Dallas. Rev. Martha Bessac of the 10th St. Methodist Church in Taylor conducted graveside services on June 7, 2006 in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Serving as pallbearers were Nathan Rowland, Justin Rowland, John McDonald, David Blomquist, Ronnie Breckenridge and Glen Powers.

Ruth was born on July 27, 1957 in Taylor to Harold E. and Esther (Blomquist) Rowland. She and Terry Blackwell were married on May 25, 1996 in Taylor. She was a homemaker. She grew up in Taylor and graduated from Taylor High School.

Surviving family members include her husband, Terry of Type, Parents, Harold and Esther Rowland of Taylor, son Mathias Muegge and wife Jessica of Grapeland, daughter, Kristine Sankey and husband Clayton of Round Rock, step son, Randy Blackwell and girlfriend, Jessie Ashford of Corsicana, step daughter, Tami Blackwell of Type. She is also survived by her brothers, James Rowland and wife Marilyn of Taylor and Paul Rowland and wife, Vickie of Shiloh, mother-in-law, Jo Schroeder of Type and Grandson, Tyler Henry of Type.

Cecil Christene “Tiny” Clark

Sept. 28, 1941 – June 1, 2006

Cecil “Tiny” Clark, 64, of Rockdale died on June 1, 2006 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. The funeral service was June 8, 2006 at Springfield Baptist Church followed by burial in the New Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale. Rev. Samuel Ross officiated.

Tiny was born in Lee County on September 28, 1941 to Jeff and Earlene Benford Alcorn. She had lived in Rockdale since 1943. She and Jewel Clark, Jr. were married in Cameron in 1961. She was a seamstress for 10 years and a homemaker. Her parents, a son, Quincy Clark and sisters, Johnnie Ruth Alcorn and Ann McDade Jones preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Jewel of Rockdale, 4 sons, Michael Earl Clark, Timothy Wayne Clark and Denny Wayne Clark all of Rockdale and Christopher Lee Clark of Quarryville, PA; 3 daughters, Cecilia Darlene Clark of Rockdale, Dana Ann Clark of Fayetteville, NC and Nicki Christene Clark of Rockdale. She is also survived by her brother, D. Lee Alcorn of Grand Prairie and 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Bessie Lucille Jackson

May 23, 1913 – June 6, 2006

Bessie Jackson passed away on June 6, 2006 at her home in Rockdale. She was 93 years old. Rev. Dennis Maddox of First United Pentecostal Church of Rockdale conducted funeral services on June 9, 2006 at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Entombment will follow at a later date in the Giddings City Cemetery Mausoleum.

Bessie was born in Woodson, Texas on May 23, 1913 to James Luther and Zora Johnson Region. She married Herman F. Jackson on May 9, 1945 in Hamilton, Texas and was a housewife. Her husband, Herman, parents and siblings, Herbert, Herman Clarence and Vera Region, Marle Biggs, Mertle Lester, Ruth Evans and Mozell Henry preceded her in death.

Bessie is survived by her special friend, Tommy Favors of Rockdale, her son, Nathan McCloud of Rockdale; her daughters, Helen Parten of Rockdale and Hazel Lee of Cross Plains and 10 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.

Sidney Bruce Jacob

November 12, 1927 – June 8, 2006

Sidney Bruce Jacob, 78, of Seadrift, Texas, died on June 8, 2006. Memorial service is to be announced at a later date.

Sidney was born on November 12, 1927 in Alto Loma, Texas to Albert Sidney Jacob and Elizabeth Jane Stubbs Jacob. He was a retired carpenter and a World War II veteran, serving in the US Navy in Damage Control. His parents, a son, David Albert Jacob and 2 brothers, Roderick and Jerald Will Jacob preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Gallaway Jacob, daughter, Kathy Jacob Penner, son, Phillip Wayne Jacob, and granddaughters, Jackie Gatlin and Jamie Barker all of Lexington.

Donations may be made to the donor’s choice in memory of Sidney Bruce Jacob.
