September 8, 1934 – July 11, 2006 Carolyn Firebaugh, 71, of Del Rio, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at her daughter’s home in Minerva. A memorial service will be held on July 21, 2006 in the Mission Council United Methodist Church in Del Rio with Pastor Richard Young officiating. Carolyn was born in Wichita Falls on September 8, 1934 to Doss F. and Lola A. (Sherwood) Miller. She married Jerry W. Firebaugh on October 21, 1970 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She worked as office manager for an oilfield testing service. She is survived by her husband, Jerry of Del Rio, children: Mike and Jan Williams of Lubbock, Dianne and Willie Smith of Llano, Sheri and Tim Rydell of Midland, Cindy and Tom Clark of Minerva, Sherry Wolf of Pflugerville, Jay and Sunny Firebaugh of South Korea, Frank Firebaugh of Sonora, CA, Jennifer Miller of Norman, OK and Mildred Shepard also of Norman. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Her parents, brother, William Miller and 2 grandchildren, Nancy Gail Williams and Walter A. Smith preceded her in death. She was a very active member of Mission Council First United Methodist Church in Del Rio and a member of the Rio Loop Walk-About Club and the West Texas Street Rod Association. June 11, 1944 – July 16, 2006 Corine was born on June 11, 1944 in Giddings to Bernard and Alvina Truede Geisler. She married John L. Alexander on June 30, 1963 and was a homemaker. She passed away on July 16, 2006 at the age of 62. Funeral services are July 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Luther Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Lein officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery. Surviving relatives are her husband, John of Giddings; 3 sons: Johnathan and Debbie Alexander of Giddings, Lloyd and Jenny Alexander of Old Dime Box and Kevin and Angel Alexander of Ledbetter; 2 daughters, Connie and Harry Schroeder of Bastrop and Cindy and J.R. Aleman of Giddings; 11 grandsons, Zachary Alexander of Brenham, Jacob and Cody Alexander of Giddings, Christopher, Jerred, Harlan, and Chance Schroeder of Bastrop, Brandon Schroeder, Wyatt Aleman, Todd and William Schroeder of Giddings, Chris Kelton of Old Dime Box and Dustin Etzel of Giddings; 11 granddaughters: Christine Schroeder of Nebraska, Jessicaann, Havannah and Cheyenne Schroeder of Bastrop, Victoria Schroeder of Giddings, Madison and McKenzie Alexander of Bridge Port, Macy Alexander of Ledbetter, Carley and Leslie Wallace of Giddings and Haley and Chris Dube also of Giddings,; 6 great grandchildren: Jordan, Nevaeh, Kaydee, Clayton, Randa, and Trista; Mother-in-law, Pearl Alexander of Lexington. She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law John Alexander. September 26, 1938 - July 11, 2006 Joyce Greensage, 67, passed away at Manor Oaks Nursing Center in Rockdale on July 11, 2006. Rev. Steve Bishop of Austin conducted graveside services at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale on July 13, 2006. Joyce was born in Bremond on September 26, 1938 to Thomas A. and Frances Viola (Morgan) Barber. She married Bruno C. Greensage on December 2, 1956 in East Columbia, Texas. She worked as a seamstress for Hodges Man Shop and The Fabric Shop in Rockdale for 33 years. Her parents and Hershel Barber preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Bruno, of Rockdale, sons: Edwin Greensage and wife Sharon of Round Rock and Troy Greensage and wife Barbara of Florissant, MO; daughters: Nancy Spiers and husband Joe of Rockdale, Judy Woolverton and husband Loy of Rockdale and Karyl Fisk and husband Bo of Davilla; grandchildren: Kallie Williams, Michelle Greensage, Joseph Greensage, Winston Woolverton, Logan Woolverton, Troy B. Greensage, Jennifer Folimer, Jessica Davis, Timothy Greensage, Lindsay Fisk and Jeffrey Fisk; great grandchildren: Devren Williams, Peyton Greensage, MacKenzie Woolverton and Taylor DeNero; brothers, Gene Barber of Caldwell, Aubrey Barber of Harrisburg, PA, Harold Barber of Round Rock and her twin brother, Royce Barber of Rockdale; sisters: Thelma Adams of Palestine, Mae Beth Young of Hearne and Mary Spitzenberger of Georgetown. September 29, 1923 - July 11, 2006 Frank Timmerman, 82, died on July 11, 2006 at his home near Rockdale following a brief illness. Funeral services were July 15, 2006 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale with Rev. Ralph McCullob, Chaplain for Odyssey Health Care officiating. Frank was born on September 29, 1923 to John and Emily (Dockall) Timmerman. He was born and raised in the Gay Hill Community near Rockdale. He lived in Houston for many years, retired and moved back to Rockdale. He married Jo O’Quin in November 1973 and worked as a Chemist for Diamond Shamrock, retired, purchased Tim’s Hardware & Lumber in Thrall, retired and tended to his cattle. His parents and his brother, Walter “Buddy” Timmerman preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Jo of Rockdale, sons, Ronald Springer and wife Marie of Jacksonville, FL; daughters: Betty Mooring and husband Will of Spring, JoAnn West and husband Phillip of Pearlington, MS and Anita Jones and husband Lonnie of Thrall; brother, Baily Timmerman and wife Ester of Houston, sister, Minnie D. Chalfant and husband Ralph of Houston. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were Timmothy Timmerman, Terry Timmerman, Greg Williams, Don Hull, Calvin Jechou, and Leroy Stephens. Frank was a 1941 graduate of Rockdale High School, Blinn College and graduated from SWT in San Marcos with a Bachelor of Science in 1946. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. July 29, 1918 – July 12, 2006 Gertrude Weise, 87, of Thorndale passed away on July 12, 2006 at the Central Texas Hospital in Cameron. Rev. Robert Beicke of St. John Lutheran of Thorndale conducted the funeral service on July 14, 2006. Burial was in the Detmold Cemetery near Thorndale. She was born to Ernest and Hulda (Schroeder) Menzel on July 29, 1918 in Williamson County. She and Robert Herman “Bob” Weise were married on February 17, 1933 in Rockdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, parents, infant daughter, and brothers, Gilbert and Ervin Menzel. She is survived by her sons, Earl Weise and wife Cholly and Harvey Weise all of Thorndale; brothers, Clarence and Cecil Menzel, both of Thorndale, Marvin Menzel of Shallowater and Melvin Menzel of Agua Dulce; sister, Mable Walther of Buda; grandchildren: Karen Elaine Weise and Keith Robert Weise and great grandchildren: Tanner and Ali McKee and Abi Weise. Serving as pallbearers were Newton Butts, Bob Hegar, Keith Weise, Calvin Mitchell, Calvin Mitchell, Jr., Clifford Mezel and Kenneth Menzel. Gertrude was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Thorndale. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and her flower gardens. |
