Robert Lee Dawson, Jr.

November 17, 1976 – March 28, 2008




Robert Lee Dawson, Jr. was born to Robert L. Dawson, Sr. and Pamela A. (Mitchell) Dawson on November 17, 1976 in Houston, TX and passed away on March 28, 2008.

Robert was affectionately called “RJ”. Robert attended school in Houston and Dime Box. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age when his was baptized at Rising Star Baptist Church in Dime Box, Texas.

Preceding him in death were his sister, Sonja Denise Dawson; aunt, Mary Ann Fillmore Davis; uncle, David L. Rue, Jr.; grandparents, Mitch and Jackie Mitchell and Robert Knox and stepsister, Marisol Sneed.

Robert is survived by a loving family: Mother, Pamela Mitchell Dawson of Houston; father, Robert L. Dawson, Sr. of Dime Box; one sister, Mary Sheppard of San Antonio; three brothers: Vas’Shone Dawson, Tyson Haynes (Bonnie), and Kenneth Ray Haynes all of Houston; grandmother Edna M. Dawson-Evans of Dime Box; two uncles, Willie Charles Fillmore (Deborah) of Bryan and Billy Mitchell of Houston; five aunts, Deborah Mitchell-Coleman of Temple, Lessie M. Jackson (Claude), Rena Rachel Jackson (Curtis) of Dime Box, Dedra J. Parker (Edward) and Rita Rue-Ricard of Houston; stepmother, Lovie Sneed; stepsisters, Lovetta Parker (Nathaniel) of Dime Box, Marina Sneed, Marsharee Sneed, La’Nette Sneed all of Houston; three nieces, two nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held at the Rising Star Baptist Church in Dime Box on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 11 a.m., the Reverend G.B. Coleman officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Cemetery in Ledbetter. Pallbearers were Michael J. Cox, Kenneth Parker, Steven Burns, Willie Fillmore, De’Andre Hansford, William Cox, Torrey Punchard, Curtis Jackson and Tyson Haynes.



Ella Lydia Fick Ender

October 6, 1920 – April 1, 2008




Funeral services were held on April 5, 2008 for Mrs. Ella Ender, 87, who passed away on April 1, 2008 at the Country Care Plex in Giddings. Rev. Leif Hasskarl conducted the services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor. Burial was in the Trinity Cemetery.

She was born in Paige on October 6, 1920 to Henry and Annie (Joseph) Fick. On September 5, 1937, she married John Ender in Lincoln. Her husband, parents, great grandson, Timothy Glenn Ender and 10 brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons: Leroy and Mildred Ender of Austin and Milton and Gerry Ender of Lincoln; daughter, Weaver and Mack McCallough; grandchildren: Tim and Janet Ender of Hutto, Joseph and Brenda McCallough of Rockdale, Daniel and Melissa McCallough of Austin, Doug and Janet Ender of Lincoln, Brian and Katrinia Ender of Lexington and Jeff and Joy Ender of Lexington; Suzy and Rodney Zoch of Giddings. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren and a sister, Martha Biehle of Smithville.




Michael Douglas Fails

February 2, 1947 – April 1, 2008




Michael Douglas Fails of Highland Haven, Texas, died at his home on April 1, 2008. He was 61 years of age. Rev. Forrest Lowry conducted the funeral service at First Baptist Church in Lexington on April 7, 2008. Burial was in the Prospect Cemetery in Lexington.

Michael was born in Lubbock, Texas on February 2, 1947 to Leon Jefferson and Anne Boyd Fails. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 36 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of VFW. He loved to fish and hunt. He loved his family and just enjoyed having a good time.

He is survived by his children: Douglas G. Fails and wife, Rachel of Manor, Bryan Michael Fails and wife Amanda Sue of Lexington and Heather K. Fails, also of Lexington; brother and sisters: Leon Jefferson Fails, Jr. of El Paso, Barbara Sue Fails of El Paso and Elizabeth Ann Fails of Wellman, Texas; grandchildren: Andrew Carl Fails, Payton Lynn Fails, Alice Joy Fails, Sabrina Amber Fails and Megan Justine Thurman; nieces and nephews: Terri, Jay, Jeff, Scott, Wade, and Sean.

He was preceded in death by his parents, favorite uncle, C.J. Fails, uncle Red Walker and aunt, Sue Walker.



Sandra Jones Schulz

January 22, 1942 – April 2, 2008




Sandra Jones Schulz, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, died April 2, 2008 at the age of 66. Sandra was born in McDade, Texas on January 22, 1942. She married Earl Schulz on December 23, 1961 in McDade.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Zina and Gladys Jones; father and mother-in-law, R.E. and Irma Schulz, one sister, Clara McCardle; brother-in-law, Alton Schulz, and one niece, Sharon Schulz.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Earl Schulz of Lexington; daughter, Brenda and husband David Pillack of Lexington; son, Randy and wife Kelly of Lexington; grandchildren, Eric, Tracy, and Whitney Pillack, Rhett and Ashley Schulz, one great-grandchild, Katelyn Pillack, all of Lexington; and one sister, Mary Rader and husband Oscar of Elgin.

She is also survived by a very special sister-in-law, Taronda and husband Leonard Schulz of Fedor; nephew, Bryan and wife Heather and their children, Colton and Karley of Paige; Lance and wife Brooke Schulz of Huntsville; nephews, Mac McCardle and wife Theresa of Lumberton, Mississippi; Joe McCardle of Fedor and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces.

Services were held on April 4, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey in Giddings.



Lanelle Wiley

February 5, 1924 – March 29, 2008





Lanelle Wiley, 84, passed away on March 29. 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. She was a long time resident of Rockdale. Funeral services were held on April 3, 2008 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale followed by burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Lanelle was born on February 5, 1924 in Thornton, Texas to John Henry and Della (Henson) Brock. She married Nolan Wiley on September 29, 1939 in Groesbeck, Texas.

She was a self-employed hairdresser. Her husband, Nolan; son, Nolie B. Wiley; parents; brothers, Claywell and Duerell Brock and sisters, Wanda Coronado and Shirley Decker preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie Wiley and his wife, Charlotte of Crystal Beach; granddaughters: Kimberly Wiley of The Woodlands, Karen Wiley McLamb and husband David of Grapevine and Jan Wiley and fiancé Randy Lambert of Taylor; great-grandchildren: Eric and Cody Wiley, Granger Lee Armentrout and Jackson Earl McLamb.

She is also survived by her sister, Aline Grahma of Bryan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were James Ferguson, Gordon Todd, Jim Scott, Lee Parsley, Mike Schneider and Lloyd Woolverton. Honorary pallbearers were Clifford Caffey and Randy Von Rosenberg.
