July 31, 1927 – November 23, 2006 Patricia Crocker, 79, died at her home in Minerva on November 23, 2006. Mr. Vester L. Crocker of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in Rockdale officiated at the funeral service on November 27, 2006. Burial was in the Minerva Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronald M. Martin, Richard T. Martin, Rancy Crocker, Charles Sechrengost, Weldon Smith and Carl Smith. Mrs. Crocker was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 31, 1927 to Thomas and Frances Massey Bowles. She worked as a manager for Platt’s Oilgram in Houston for 25 years. She was retired. She and Vester L. Crocker were married on December 1, 1967 in Houston. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Ann Martin in 2002, sister, Mildred June Ellen Bowles Brooks and a brother, John Massey Bowles. She is survived by her husband, Vester; sons, Ronald Martin of Houston and Richard Martin of Provo, UT; step son, Randy Crocker of Rockdale; daughter, Nancy Ann Lamb of Hyde Park, UT; step daughters, Betty Crocker of Houston, Wanda Smith of Cleveland, TX, Debra Crocker of Austin and Vicki Sechrengost of New Caney, TX; sister, Nancy Virginia Lee Bowles Wooten of Little Rock, AR. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday saints in Rockdale and involved in charity work. July 25, 1949 – November 23, 2006 Angelita Montelongo, 57, of Rockdale, died on November 23, 2006 at the Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Minister Martin Mendoza conducted the funeral service on November 27, 2006 at Phillips & Luckey in Rockdale. Burial was in Norwood Cemetery in Hearne. Pallbearers were Martin Bermudez, Johnny Lee Roberts, Michael Leija, Jay Rubio, Moses Dominguez and Santos Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers were Alonzo Montelongo and Matthew Barley Angelita was born July 25, 1949 in Hearne to Catarino and Nazaria (Rodriguez) Martinez. She and Frank Montelongo were married in Franklin, Texas on April 18, 1964. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Consuel Cabrales. She is survived by her husband, Minister Frank Montelongo, son, Joseph Montelongo and wife Pearl, daughters, Louise Montelongo, and Angela Bermudez and husband Martin all of Rockdale; grandchildren, Johnny Lee Roberts, Jr., Ashley Roberts, Franciscan Bermudez, Cheyenne Montelongo, Martin “Quanchy” Bermudez, Jr. and Autumn Montelongo; brothers: Reynaldo Martinez and wife Janie of Hearne and Joe Martinez of Houston; sisters: Romana James and husband Frank of Hearne, Maggie Golub and husband Jerry and Rosie Tzunuun and husband Joe all of Bryan and Mary Leija of Hearne. July 26, 1926 – November 26, 2006 Walter A. “Bozo” Urban, Jr. passed away at Richards Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon, November 26, 2006. He was 80 years of age. Bozo was born on July 26, 1926 in Rockdale, Texas to Walter Arnold and Martha Amanda (Schulz) Urban, Sr. He grew up in Rockdale and was a lifelong musician, playing clarinet, saxophone and accordion. He began playing with the Gilbert Kautz Orchestra at the age of 15. He always enjoyed playing for many events in and around Rockdale. On September 17, 1954, Bozo married Violet Ann Anderson. He worked at Alcoa for 20 years before becoming a banker, where he served the community for another 20 years. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army, Marines and Air Force. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Bozo was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale and a member of the Noon Lions Club. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Scott Urban and wife Cindy of Rockdale, and Terry G. Urban and wife Karen of College Station. His grandchildren, Danielle Brooke Urban, Miranda Renee Urban, Travis Glenn Urban, and Robert Wesley Chenault also survive him. His parents and one brother, Doyle Urban, who passed from this life on July 20, 2003, preceded him in death. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, also in Rockdale. The Reverend Jan Campbell with Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale will officiate. Pall Bearers will be Tommy Lumpkins, Terry Stockton, Bill Hoiden, Travis Urban, Ted Mertz, and Russell Anderson. June 30, 1918 – November 24, 2006 Dorothy Lorene Ward died November 24, 2006 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 88. She was born June 30, 1918 in Poteet, Texas to the late Beakley Mangum and Agnes (McCullough) Mangum. She was born again in 1931. Dorothy was a 46 year resident of Amarillo. Though employed with the High Plains Religious Bookstore for 15 years in Amarillo, she considered her home and family her career. She was preceded in death by her husband Woodson W. Ward and grandson Marlon Murphree. Survivors include four daughters, Janice Hammack of Amarillo, Beverly Wood and husband Alonzo of Lexington, Sherrie Murphree and husband Melvin of Odessa, Suzanne Dollar and husband Soapy of San Antonio; two sisters, Billie Jean Ware of Kingsland and Jo Ann Moore of San Marcos; nine grandchildren, David Bergmann, Mike Bergmann, Vickie Gross, Gena Conner, Valerie Murphree, Jana Church, Scott Dollar, Shawn Dollar and Stacy Dollar; one great grandchild, Christian Conner. Pallbearers were Melvin Murphree, Doug Gross, Mike Bergmann, Scott Dollar, Shawn Dollar, Christian Conner and Truett Dodson, Honorary. The funeral service was Monday, November 27, at Sunset Funeral Home. The private graveside service followed at Sunset Memorial Park.
