November 22, 1935 – January 23, 2007 Billy Beauchamp, 71, passed away on January 23, 2007 at his home in Lexington. Billy was born in Johnson City, Texas on November 22, 1935 to Tom and Etta (Barder) Beauchamp. He married Olga Tamez on September 16, 1988. He worked as a construction foreman and was a veteran of the US Army. His parents, five brothers, one sister and one nephew preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Olga, 2 daughters: Cecilia and Homer Fernandez of New Jersey and Pat and Pete Sandoval of Corpus Christi; 2 grandsons: Mario and Emelio Fernandez of New Jersey; 2 granddaughters: Ericka Sandoval of Corpus Christi and Stephanie Griffins of Kansas; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Mattie and Bob Westbrook of Lexington and Barbara Fisher of Lexington. Multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family also survive. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice or to the Adina Christian Church or the Lexington EMS. The family has requested that you not purchase flowers. June 9, 1918 – January 22, 2007 Florence Ditto, 88, of Cameron, died on January 22, 2007 at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale. She had lived in Cameron for the past 8 years. Prior to that she lived in Gause. Rev. Jimmie Sanders conducted the funeral service at First Baptist Church in Gause. Interment was in the Gause Cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel Ditto, Bobby Hooks, Ernest Hooks, Buddy Smith, Chuck Aguilar, Matt Wilson, and Steve Miller. Mrs. Ditto was born in Burleson County on June 9, 1918 to Johnnie Alton and Rosa Anna Mitchell Smith. She and Truman Edward Ditto, Sr. were married on August 24, 1947 in Angleton, Texas. Her husband, parents and brother, John Albert Smith preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons: Walter Ray Ditto and wife Emily and Truman E. “Butch” Ditto all of Gause; daughter, Lynnda Ann Miller and husband Stephen of LaPorte; grandchildren: Suzanna Aguilar and husband Charles of Houston, Nanci Stevenson and husband William of Pasadena, Ernest Hooks and wife Sue of Pritchard, WV, Bobby Hooks and wife Diane of Remington, VA, Marisa Wilson and husband Matt of Georgetown, Daniel Ditto of Gause, Kristi Bode and husband Buster of Jarrell and Amber Ditto of Waco. Walnut, Gause, Texas 77857 November 27, 1924 – January 22, 2007 Carolyn Miertschin, 72, of Winchester, passed away at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin on January 22, 2007. Rev. Henry C. Wied conducted the funeral service at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Winchester on January 25, 2007. Burial was in the St. Michael’s Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Miertschin was born to Granville and Sarah Mae (Brown) Brannen in Houston on November 27, 1934. She married Monroe C. Miertschin in Pasadena, Texas on August 28, 1959. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Granville Brannen, Jr., sister, Harriette Brannen and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Masselink. She is survived by her husband, Monroe of Winchester; children: Susan Marlin and husband Richard of Uvalde, Brenda Masselink and husband, Rick of Round Rock, Carl Miertschin and wife Charla of Rushford, MN and Annette Alvarado and husband Simon of Giddings; sister, Judy Wagner and husband Don of Olympia, WA and grandchildren: Timothy and Rachel Marlin, Johnathan, Sarah, and Thomas Masselink, Stacey Lou and Joshua Carl Miertschin, Stephanie, Denise, Matthew and Michael Alvarado. October 27, 1930 – January 27, 2007 E.M. Peebles, 76, died on January 27, 2007 in Phoenix, Arizona, where he was living with his daughter. A memorial service will be held on February 4, 2007 at the Lexington Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. E.M. was born on October 27, 1930 in Cameron to Sam Parker and Mary Anne (Johnston) Peebles. He grew up in Lexington, attended Lexington Schools and Schriner Institute in Kerrville. While serving in the US Navy, stationed in Phoenix, he met his wife, Shirla. He worked at several occupations, primarily driving trucks. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his former wife, Shirla; daughter, Eva Marie and husband David Errington of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: May, Christopher, Wesley, Charlotte, Christiana and Jessica; great grandchildren: Matthew Spartan, Yvonne Carmarie and Taylor Dean; sisters: Rosa Gene Lewis and Ascenia (Dose) Underwood, both of Lexington; brothers: Sam P. Peebles, Jr. of Rockdale and Wyley Marshall Peebles of Lexington. April 19. 1944 – January 26, 2007 Beverly Ann Sarmiento, 62, formerly of Coupland and new resident of the Adina Community passed away Friday, January 26, 2007 at her residence. She was born April 19, 1944 in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of Edwin Melvin and Florence Ethyl May (Smith) Jonas, Sr. On October 14, 2000 she married Isaias (Sam) Sarmiento. Beverly worked as an assembler for Intercraft for many years, and assisted with home health care. She was a member of the Adina Christian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Edwin Melvin Jonas, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Isaias (Sam) Sarmiento of Adina; daughters, Melissa Rae West of Adina, Barbara Ann Parker of Austin, Victoria Lynn Maya of Austin, Jessica Lynn Cardozo and husband Israel of Austin; sons, Jason Sarmiento and wife Kimberly of Taylor, William John Hodde of Taylor and Benson Hodde of Austin; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Georgia Sakbani of Damascus, Syria and Cathy Wade of Liberty Hill; and step-mother, Rathel Jonas of Liberty Hill Memorials may be made to the Adina Christian Church. Services were on Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Adina Christian Church with Rev. Thomas Long officiating. Burial was in the Adina Christian Cemetery. |
