January 24, 1967 – May 4, 2007 Jo Anna Brizendine, 40, passed away on May 4, 2007 at her home near Rockdale. Rev. Jan Campbell conducted the funeral service at Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale on May 6, 2007. A graveside service and burial followed at the Brizendine Family Cemetery near Andice, Texas. Jo Anna was born in Taylor on January 24, 1967 to Cecil M. and the late Ruth J. (Ceil) Schneider. She was a commercial underwriter for Farmers Insurance Company in Round Rock for 20 years. She and Wesley Brizendine were married in Round Rock on July 10, 1987. Her mother, Ruth Schneider and brother, Matthew Schneider preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Wesley of Rockdale, sons, Scott Brizendine of Georgetown and Jeremiah Brizendine of Rockdale; father and step-mother, Cecil and Ann Schneider of Bartlett; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Boots and Kenneth Brizendine of Florence; sisters: Sheryl Schneider of Lockhart, Jane Benham and husband John of Wink, Rita Snyder and husband Cliff of Bartlett, Connie Schneider of Lockhart and Nancy Nichols of Hewitt and brother-in-law, Corby Brizendine of Shidler, Oklahoma. Jo Anna was a 1985 graduate of Georgetown High school and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Rockdale. June 20, 1930 - May 1, 2007 Grace Hord, 76, of Rockdale died on May 1, 2007 at the Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services were held on May 4 at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. John Warren officiating. She was born on June 20, 1930 to Junior M. and Hilda (Gatlin) Coffey. She was a Registered Nurse and served in the health care service for 12 years, retiring from Richards Memorial Hospital. A son, Nevin Hord, brother, William C. Coffey and her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Hord of Rockdale; sons: Robert Hord, Jr. and wife Joy of Palestine, TX, Don Travis Hord of Waco and Michael David Hord of Rockdale; brother, Donald R. Coffey of Crystal Beach and sister, Suzanne Turner and husband Johnny of Rockdale. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed Bridge Club, Sewing Club and her crafts. She gave a lot of the crafts she made to friends in the community. Memorials may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 168, Rockdale, Texas 76567 August 6, 1929 - May 1, 2007 Mrs. Pearson was born on August 6, 1920 in Burnley Lancashire, England. Her parents were Tom and Evelyn Astin. She and W.T. Pearson, Jr. were married in London, England on September 3, 1945. She was a homemaker and florist with Rockdale Flowers & Gift Shop for over 26 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1996. Her sons, William Thomas Pearson III and David Gordon Pearson, daughter, Elizabeth Pearson and her parents also preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, William Thomas “Billy” Pearson, IV of Kerrville, daughter, Evelyn Woodward of Rockdale; grandchildren: Robin Elizabeth Silvey, Brian Conrad Stauffer, Todd Christian Stauffer, Emily Melain Robinson, Heather Noel Stebbins, Jennifer Nicole Sparks, and Michelle Lee Wagner; great grandchildren: David Tyler Pearson, Caden Shane Silvey, Lucy Rose Stebbins, Zachari Stauffer, Zachary Pearson, Destiny Wagner, Thomas Bodovski and Dolton Wagner. During WWII, she served in Kings Royal Air Force in England. December 31, 1932 – May 5, 2007 Mrs. Reed was born in Cherryvale, Kansas on December 31, 1932 to Frederick Charles and Gladys Lee (Miller) Molidor. She and Gaston R. Reed were married on October 29, 1949 in Hillsboro, Texas. Preceding her in death are her husband, Gaston, daughter, Janice Whiteley, son, Allen Dale Reed, grandson, Matthew Nitcholas, parents, sister, Barbara Gilder and brother, Jerry Molidor. Surviving family members are her sons: Joe Reed of Corsicana and wife Paula, Larry Reed of Dallas and wife Sharon, and Lee Reed of Bryan and wife Debbie; daughters: Sandi Nitcholas of Fairfield and husband Barry and Jo Ann Farrell of Teague and husband Dwayne; brother, Paul Molidor of Emory and wife Margaret and sister-in-law, Barbara Molidor of Whitney. 22 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren also survive. April 1, 1937 - April 30, 2007 Mr. Southernwood was born in La Grange on April 1, 1937 to Joe and Edna (Adamcik) Southernwood. He was a retired draftsman with Amoco of Houston, where he worked for over 36 years. He married Mary Niemann on October 14, 1961 in Woodsboro. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Black Jack; sons: Jeffrey, James and Sheldon Southernwood all of Houston; daughter, Kay Patton and husband Bill of Rockdale; sisters: Martha Jo Southernwood and Mary Sue Glorfield both of Corpus Christi. Eight grandchildren also survive. He was a member of Black Jack Volunteer Fire Department. Memorials may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018 May 18, 1911 - May 3, 2007 Mr. Wilson was born in McDade on May 18, 1911 to William P. and Nellie A. Kelton Wilson. He worked for the U.S. Post Office as a Rural Postal Carrier. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He and Blanche Johnson were married on August 15, 1953. She preceded him in death, as did his parents, brothers: Clarence and Wallace Wilson and sister, Marie Ellison He is survived by his step daughters: Robbie Knipstein of Freeport and Betty Carlton of Houston, sister-in-law, Freda Wilson of McDade and nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Wilson was a member of First Baptist Church of Giddings. He was an avid gardener, loved flowers and loved to sing. He had also taught himself to play the organ. He will be missed by his family and friends. |
