Sr. June 15, 1937 – May 18, 2007 Billie Chapman, 69, of Rockdale passed away on May 18, 2007 near Rockdale. Rev. Weldon Belew of Rockdale Christian Church conducted the graveside service on May 20, 2007 at the Harmony Cemetery near Rockdale. Billie was born on June 15, 1937 in Longview to Martin Wadena and Clara Cell (Capps) Satterwhite. She worked for Corsicana Dry Cleaners then with Home Health Care, as well as being a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Martin Satterwhite, Jr. and Earl Satterwhite. She is survived by her sons, Charles Ray of Irving and Jackie Glen Chapman of Rockdale; daughters, Cassie Lynn Bailey of Rockdale and Dianne Chapman of Louisiana; brothers: Donnie Satterwhite, Sr. of Houston and Joey Satterwhite of California; sisters, Mary Kadlee of Wisconsin and Clara Fern Edmonds of Henderson; grandchildren: Justin Keith and Bradley Shane Bailey, Jr. and a granddaughter on the way. June 16, 1945 - May 14, 2007 Pablo DelaGarza, 61, of Rockdale, died on May 14, 2007 in the College Station Medical Center. Rev. Gregory Hanks conducted the funeral service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Mr. DelaGarza was born in Piedras Negras, Mexico on June 16, 1945 to Oliverio and Maria Luisa DelaGarza. His wife, San Juana, preceded him in death in 2006. Also preceding him in death are his father, brothers: Jose Luis and Adolfo DelaGarza and a sister, Guadalupe DelaGarza. He is survived by his son, Pablo DelaGarza, Jr., of Rockdale; daughters: Lucy Castillo and husband David, Leticia Rivera and husband Manuel, and Janie Hernandez and husband Guadalupe all of Rockdale; mother, Maria Luisa DelaGarza, brothers: Oliverio DelaGarza, Jr., Oliverio DelaGarza III, and Amado DelaGarza; sisters: Rosa Olivares and Maria Luisa Medrano all of Eagle Pass. Thirteen grandchildren also survive. March 19, 1917 – May 18, 2007 Mrs. Dodson was born in Cotton Plant, Arkansas on March 19, 1917 to Hugh Clinton and Georgia Lee (Osborne) Gibson. She was married to George Leeper, who preceded her in death in 1974. She married Herbert S. Dodson on January 31, 1975 in Houston. He passed away on August 17, 1989. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Lockart of Colmesnell; nephews: William H. Gibson and wife Ailene of Liberty Hill, Robert L. Gibson and wife Dorothy of Grand Prairie and Michael Eugene Gibson of North Carolina, and a niece, Amy Gibson Proctor of Maryland. Mrs. Dodson was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale. June 2, 1919 - May 15, 2007 A lifelong resident of Milam County, Mrs. Doss was born and raised in Gay Hill Community on June 2, 1919 to Joe and Rosa (Hirt) Doss. She was married to Allen “Jake” Doss and was a dairy owner and operator. Her husband, parents, brothers: Emil, Charlie, Max, Floyd and John Dockall; sisters: (twin) Roseline Doss, Amanda Dockall, Mamie Stolte, Lorine Jenkins, and Irene Henry preceded her in death. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale, the VFW Auxiliary, and loved to play Bingo. April 20, 1915 - May 17, 2007 Red was born in Lexington on April 20, 1915, to Travis Adison and Dora (Schutte) Hart. He worked as a carbon plant crane operator for ALCOA in Rockdale. He and Hazel Jean Curlee were married in May of 1951 in Burnet, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Adelle Cox and brothers: Oscar, Lester and Ray Hart. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Jean of Lexington, son, Thomas A. Hart and wife Cindy of Lexington, daughters: Claire L. Hart-Palumbo of Houston and Debi Smith and husband Cody of Lexington, and sister, Dottie Sorenson and husband Archie of Lexington. Three grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive. Serving as pallbearers were Alan Spence, Rodney Exner, David Jeter, Robert Von Gonten, Cody Smith, Bob Hasselbush and Paul Van Dorn. Red was a member of First Christian Church in Lexington and of the American Legion. He was also a member of United Steelworkers #4895. December 24, 1906 – May 19, 2007 Mrs. Herzog was born on December 24, 1906 in Lincoln to Otto and Alma Reuter Seelke. She married Oswald Herzog on January 8, 1928 in Lexington. Preceding her in death were her husband, sons, Raymond Herzog, foster son, Lloyd Boettcher, parents, brother, Alvin Seelke, and sister, Laura Boettcher. She is survived by her daughters: Alene Herzog Reuther of Giddings and Faye and L.D. Bentke of Ft. Worth; foster daughter-in-law, Jane Boettcher of Kempner, Texas; grandchildren: Cheryl Kay and Eugene Iselt of Giddings and Darrell Reuther and fiancée Patricia Terry also of Giddings, John and Becky Bentke of Granbury, Steven Bentke of Lyons, Tammie and Shawn Witt of Wautauga, TX; foster grandsons: George Boettcher of Dallas and Keith and Kimberly Boettcher of Lampasas; great grandchildren: Jamie Rodgers, Chelsie Bentke, Cody Bentke, Christy Witt, Shelby Witt, Evan Witt and Julia Witt; foster great grandsons: Christopher, Bryan, and Brock Boettcher; special sister-in-law, Gertrude Davis of Austin. Mrs. Herzog was a lifetime resident of Lee County. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Member of Ladies Aid for many years. She was a great cook, well known for her cheesecake. She loved the outdoors, gardening, working with cattle. She loved her pet cats and dogs. She enjoyed fishing. At a very young age, she learned how to process tobacco on her grandfather’s farm. |
