January 25, 1921 – June 29, 2007 Governor Davis, 86, of Giddings died on June 29 2007. The funeral service was held on July 3, 2007 at Bethel St. Paul United Baptist Church in Giddings with Rev. Frank Garrett, Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Giddings. Mr. Davis was born on January 25, 1921 in Lee County to Tender and Julia Lee Davis. He was a farmer, rancher and cemetery operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: Doris, Tender and Londise Davis; nephew, Marvin Dean Francis, niece, Margarete Dean Francis and great nephew, Dewight D. Clinton. He is survived by his brother, W.L. Davis; sisters: Julia Francis, Ruthie Davis and Thelma Davis all of Giddings; nieces: Rosie Sims-Lee of Giddings, Gracie Lang of Giddings, Sharon Ray of Lockhart, and Jasmine Fuselier of Giddings; nephews: Vernon Dwayne and Darolyn Davis of Indiana and Timothy L. Frances of Austin; 11 great nieces and nephews; 15 great great nieces and nephews as well as a host of relatives and loving friends. Memorials may be made to the Pilgrims Rest cemetery Fund, Giddings, TX or the Alzheimer’s Association April 4, 1959 – June 30, 2007 Richard James Dodd, 48, of Manchaca, Texas passed away at home Saturday morning, June 30, 2007. He was born in Houston, Texas, moved to Austin, Texas where he was employed by Rizzo Construction for 23 years. The funeral service was held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings on July 3, 2007, with Rev. Don Lee officiating. Burial was in the Dodd Family Cemetery in Dime Box. Pallbearers were Jim Sloan, Jimmy Guynes, Kevin Dodd, Bert Ledwig, Donald Beck, and Gary Goodson. He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Dodd, son, Matthew James Dodd, daughter, Jamie Watson and husband William and granddaughter Abigail Watson all of Manchaca; mother, Clareace Dodd of Houston, brother, Larry Dodd and wife Connie of Halletsville, niece Carrie Dodd of Houston and nephew, William Dodd and wife Angelique of Katy. He was preceded in death by his father, James Weldon Dodd. Memorials may be given to the Dodd Family Cemetery Association. September 17, 1915 – June 26, 2007 Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Chuck Salmon on July 1, 2007 in the Forest Grove Christian Church. Burial followed in the Forest Grove Cemetery. She is survived by her daughters: Gail Cork and husband David of Forest Grove and Brenda Lane and husband Jim of Yorktown; granddaughters: Robin Exner and husband Mickey of Forest Grove, Lisa Greenway and husband Kent of Rockdale, Amy Mathis and husband Dwayne of Lexington, Gretchen Horny and husband Dale of Yorktown, Tonie Kay Church and husband Jeff of Lexington and K.C. Clinkscales and husband Dusty of Lockhart; 14 great grandchildren: Ashley Priem and husband Ryan, Matthew Exner, Jessica Light, Holly Jacob, London Jacob, Victoria Mathis, Blake Horny, Tabitha Horny, Amanda Hattie Bexley, Hailey Bexley, Brandon Church, Payden Church, Hanna Clinkscales, Presley Clinkscales. Serving as pallbearers were Mickey Exner, Kent Greenway, Dwayne Mathis, Dale Horny, Jeff Church, and Dusty Clinkscales. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Tom Gary, DVM, John E Gary, Bruce Gary, Larry Gary, Larry Marek, Victor Marek and Gary Booth. She was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church. August 28, 1949 – June 26, 2007 Mr. Jackson was born on August 28, 1949 in Cameron to Monora Francis and I.B. (Bownds) Jackson. He and Betty Koenig were married on July 6, 1974 in Rockdale. He worked in Tool Rental for Home Depot in Marble Falls for the past 2 years. Previously with Houston Instrument in Austin for 20 years. His father preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Burnet; daughters: Elizabeth Ann Holley of Austin, Robin Marie Davila of Burnet and Rebecca Lynn Hale of Rockdale; mother, I.B. Jackson of Rockdale; brothers: Richard Dean Jackson of Ada, OK and John Thomas Jackson of Rockdale; sisters: Barbara Sue Needham of Cameron and Rosemary Gorthe of Ruidoso, NM. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. December 7, 1935 – June 28, 2007 She is survived by her sons: Joe Rodriguez and wife Margaret of Houston and Rick Anthony Soliz and wife Flo of Houston; daughters: Blanche Rubio and husband Ray of Rockdale, Alice Cain and husband Danny Chavez of Rockdale, Liz Rosas and husband Ruben of Houston, Sophia Cabrera and husband Manuel of Houston, Hope Bocanegra and husband Liberio of Milano, Stella Rodriguez and husband Ruben Perez of Rockdale and Paula Soto of Rockdale; sisters: Jaime Compasano and husband Tony of Houston and Eva Mendoza and husband Ted of Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, parents, granddaughter: Angela Maria Rosas and sister, Frances Martinez Henderson. Serving as pallbearers were Carey Guiterrez, Raynaldo Rubio, Jr., Rick Soliz, Larry Soliz, John Rosas, Max Rodriguez, Johnny Cabrera, Jim Guiterrez, Joe Guiterrez, John Guiterrez, Martin Guiterrez, Andrew Rodriguez, Manuel Cabrera, Jr., Mark Rodriguez, Michael Rodriguez, Sergio Rodriguez, Joe Anthony Rodriguez, Michael Herrera and Justin Herrera. November 13, 1954 – June 26, 2007 Rickey was born on November 13, 1954 in Levelland, Texas. His parents were Claude and Beatrice (James) Tucker. He was a “jack-of-all trades”, mainly a Gas Line Inspector. He worked in the petroleum industry and for Camp For All. His parents and brother, Buddy Tucker preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, JC Tucker of Montana; daughter, Stormy Tucker and grandson Logan Tucker both of Montana; sisters: Claudette and Kenneth Young of Brady and Mary and William “Bill” Dozier of San Angelo; brother, Terry Tucker of Hondo; companion and care giver, Pamela Rucker of Brenham; step children Julie and CJ Jackson of Burton, Chris Rucker of Louisiana; step grandchildren: Cassidy Jackson of Burton and Chelsea Rucker of Louisiana. Also, multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and extended family survive. Memorials may be made to Camp For All and the Brazos Valley Hsopice. |
