Emilia Rose Baggerly

July 11, 2007 – July 13, 2007

Graveside services were held for Emilia Rose Baggerly, infant daughter of Amador Baggerly and Audrey Skiles on July 17, 2007 in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale. Pastor Max Rosas of the Assembly of God Church officiated. Emily Rose was born on July 11, 2007 at North Austin Medical Center in Austin.

In addition to her parents, Emily Rose is survived by her grandparents: Roy Allen and Sylvia Baggerly of Rockdale and Marty G. and Angie Skiles of San Marcos; great grandparents: Alejandra Zamora of Rockdale and Polo and Teresa Melendez of Kyle; great great grandmother, Jessie Allen of Rockdale; uncles: Marty Gale Skiles, III of San Marcos, David Baggerly of Bryan and Bobby Baggerly of Rockdale; aunts: Amy Lea Skiles of San Marcos, April McRae and Billy of Rockdale, Monica Guerra of Dallas, Jackie Lacey and Nathan of Rockdale, and Jessie Baggerly of Rockdale.

Pauline Drosche

February 10, 1929 – July 12, 2007

Pauline Drosche was born in Lexington, Texas on February 10, 1929 to Jesse and Orine (Guthrie) Poston. She married George Drosche on October 17, 1946.

Mrs. Drosche passed away at the age of 78 years on July 12, 2007 in the Heart Hospital of Austin. Funeral services were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. John Davis and Rev. Robert Tiner officiating. Burial was in the Giddings City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Steven Hartranft, Jeff Kimey, Johnny Gonzalez, Shane Drosche, Justin Hargis, and Rodney Bage.

Surviving family includes her children: Betty Remmers and husband E.L., Jr. of Giddings, Paula Pierce and husband Ken of Giddings, Roy Drosche and wife Barbara of Bellville, and Elaine Gonzalez and husband Johnny of Giddings; brother, Douglas Poston of McDade; sister, Shirley Marcellian of Nederland; 20 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Edmund Bage, and her parents.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran School or Ladies Aid Society.

Elizabeth J. Freeman

July 19, 1937 – June 23, 2007
Elizabeth Freeman, 69, passed away on June 23, 2007 at her home in Round Rock. She had lived in Lexington for forty years before moving to Round Rock two years ago. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Reuel Cooper and Rev. Geary McManus on June 26, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche, Texas. Serving as pallbearers were Calvin Freeman, John Hutto, Amy Hutto, Cheryle Freeman, Gary Freeman, Kati Freeman, Megan Hutto and Molly Hutto.

Elizabeth was born in Gorman, Texas on July 19, 1937 to Dewey O. and Dovie Daun Butler Williams. She married Calvin Robert Freeman on June 4, 1954 in Comanche, Texas. She worked as a Teacher’s Aide for the Lexington Public Schools, retiring after thirty years.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin, of Round Rock, son, Gary Freeman and wife, Mary of Iola; daughters: Cheryle Freeman of Round Rock and Amy Hutto and husband, John of Cedar Park; grandchildren: Kati Freeman, Megan and Molly Hutto.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lexington and of The Daughters of the American Revolution and The Daughters of the Revolution of Texas. Her hobbies included Genealogy, Quilting and Gardening.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Kent Thurman

April 6, 1928 – July 11, 2007
Kent Thurman, 79 of Milano died on July 11, 2007 in the Renaissance Villa in Rockdale. He was born on April 6, 1928 in North Hollywood, California to Zoe Kent Thurman, Sr. and Alice Mae Goodwin. He married Queena Rae Haddox on May 21, 1947. He worked for 14 years in the potrooms at Alcoa; setting carbon, and selling used cars. In 1970, he bought the Mobil Station & Wrecker Service, retiring in 2004. His parents, son, Sammy Douglas Thurman and brother, Jack Thurman preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Queena, of Milano; sons: Buddy Thurman and wife Dell of Milano and Homer Thurman of Dallas; daughters: Cynthia Wood and husband Don of Whitesboro, Debra Thurman of Dallas, Teresa Kutch and husband Sonny of Caldwell, Sandra Thurman of Milano and Olivia Henderson and husband Steve of Lexington; sisters: Midge Cornwell of Phoenix, AZ, Barb Dickerson of The Woodlands and Peggy Dickerson of Clarksville, AR; grandchildren: Kasaundra Lea Thurman, Monica Rene Thurman, Andrew Kent Thurman, Matthew Scott Thurman, Daniel Scott Wood, Diana Shea Wood, Lana Lea Wood, Teresa Renea Kutch, Michael Kent Cernuch, Zachary Kent Doonan, Dana Rae Doonan; great grandchildren: Christian Lee Thurman, Dylan Wyatt Andrejczak, Kaitlyn Victoria Gayle Cernuch and Michael Kaden Cernuch.

Funeral services were held on July 15 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Burt Graham officiating. Burial was in the Milano Cemetery. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers included Don Wardlaw and the Officers and Firefighters of Milano Volunteer Fire Department.

Kent was a trustee for Milano ISD for 13 years and a member of Milano Volunteer Fire Department. He succeeded in father-in-law, Homer O. “Runt” Haddox, in the position of Fire Chief and later served as First Assistant Fire Chief for Milano.
