Sept 11, 1943 – September 9, 2007 Patricia D. Barker died on Sept. 9, 2007 at her home near Rockdale and was cremated. Patricia was born to Rever and Nina (Redding) Morris on Sept. 11, 1943 in Hunington, Indiana. She married James E. Barker on Oct. 19, 1963 in Hunington. While living in Thrall, Caldwell and Rockdale, Patricia worked as a custodian at Texas A&M, and as a sales associate with Wal-Mart in Rockdale and Taylor. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale. Patricia is survived by: her husband, James E. Barker, Sr. of Rockdale; sons, Jeff Barker of Caldwell, Terry Barker of Bartlett, Matt Barker of Thrall, James Barker, Jr. of Rockdale; daughters, Tina Klehn of Leawood, Kansas; parents, Rever and Nina Morris of Caldwell; brother, Cicil Morris of Caldwell, 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandy Morris, and her brother, Rich Morris. March 1, 1916 – September 4, 2007 Horrace Willard Henry died on Sept. 4, 2007. Services were held Sept. 6, 2007 at the First Baptist Church. Burial was at the Perry Cemetery in Houston. The family requests memorials to be sent to Bread Ministry in Dime Box. Horrace was born to Oville Henry and Era Elsie (West) Henry in Middle Bayou, Texas on March 1, 1916. He married Ruth Florine Craig on Jan. 12, 1940. Horrace was a veteran of WWII as a sergeant in the 233rd Combat Engineers. He retired as a maintenance director of the Klein Independent School District. He was a past Post Commander of the VFW Post 2427 in Tomball, Texas. Horrace is survived by: daughters, Beverly and Harold Sempe of Dime Box, Daphne and Oscar Hernandez of Phoenix, Melodie and Dennise Cain of Phoenix; son, Willard Eugene and Maureen Henry of Phoenix; grandsons, Keith Malatt of Phoenix, Benjamin and Dorothy Emal of Austin; granddaughters, Nevonne Fain of Giddings, Melinda Rice of Maine, Melissa Henry of Phoenix; 13 great grandchildren and multiple nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by: his wife; parents; brothers, Clyde Henry, Ellison Henry, James Henry, Wallace Shaw and Alton Shaw; sisters, Viola Henry and Elba Trudy Black; granddaughter, Cindy Renee Terry. January 25, 1963 – September 8, 2007 Michael was born to Herschel and Helen “Joyce” (Stolte) McCoy on January 25, 1963 in Galveston. He graduated from Thorndale High School and was a self-employed carpenter. Michael married Jackie Faye Walton on May 8, 1993 in Taylor. He enjoyed hunting arrowheads, rocks, bull-riding, coaching Pop Warner Football, hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. Michael was survived by his wife, Jackie McCoy of Thorndale; sons, Christopher Craig Johnson of Thorndale, Roger Kole McCoy of Thorndale, Rowdy James McCoy of Thorndale; daughters, Lyndsi Donn McCoy and spouse RJ Sandoval of Taylor; parents, Herschel and Joyce McCoy of Thorndale; brothers, Tommy McCoy and wife Denise of Thorndale, James McCoy and wife Vanissa of Thorndale, Kevin McCoy and wife Karen of Thorndale; sisters, Kim McCoy Jordan and husband Bill of Thorndale; grandmothers, Zula Stolte of Rockdale and maurine McCoy of Taylor; grandchild, Reese Jordan Sandoval of Taylor. February 14, 1944 – September 7, 2007 Jerry was born on February 14, 1944 in Magnolia Arkansas to Richmond C. Reeves and Mary M. (Eddy) Reeves. Jerry married Janice Pirhala on Aug. 13, 1976. He was a religious minister. Jerry is survived by: his wife, Janice Reeves of Lincoln; daughter, Jennifer Reeves of Lincoln; son, Jeffrey Reeves of Brenham; mother, Mary McCommon of Texarkana; brother, Joel Reeves of Buckner, Arkansas and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Richmond Reeves and his stepfather, Lawrence McCommon. A request from Jennifer Reeves: One of Jeff and my biggest regrets is that we never produced any grandchildren for Dad. Jeff and I never had the chance to know either of our grandfathers and the only way we heard about them was through stories from family or friends. September 4, 1923 – September 2, 2007 Elizabeth was born in Burleson County on Sept 4, 1923 to John Miller and Agnes (Mikulastik) Paukert. She attended Caldwell High School and married J.D. Whited in 1944 in Coleman, Texas. Elizabeth was a cattle rancher and a homemaker and was the owner and operator of a fruit stand in Milano. In later years she enjoyed visiting with her friends at the Milano Senior Citizens Center. Elizabeth is survived by her brothers: John Paukert of Friendswood, Texas, Frank Paukert and wife Fay of LaMarque, Texas; and her sister, Evelina Goodson and husband E.J. Carle of San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 10, 1978; her parents; her sister, Blanche Piwonka; her brother, Marion T. Paukert and her stepdaughter, Barbara Ann Mills. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. June 19, 1951 - August 27, 2007 Jerry Glen Bradshaw, age 56, of Manor, passed away August 27, 2007 in Austin. He was born June 19, 1951 in Giddings, Texas. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Bradshaw and Thelma Marie Jackson Bradshaw. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Jean Bradshaw; sons, Jack D. Bradshaw and wife, Lana of Ocean Springs, Miss., Gregory A. Interment was held at Clayton Cemetery near Carthage, Texas at 1 p.m., on Friday, August 31, 2007. December 21, 1930 – August 28, 2007 Willie “George” Bohot was born and raised in Giddings. He married Eunice Nimtz on May 2, 1953. He owned and operated Bohot Equipment Co. and B & M Equipment Co. for a number of years. He was a member of the Giddings Lions Club and the Giddings Jaycees. George moved to Wimberley, Texas where he owned and operated several businesses. George is survived by his wife, Eunice Bohot of Wimberley, Texas; his son, Kenny Bohot and wife Dawn of Wimberley, Texas; his grandson, Lucas Bohot of Wimberley; his sister, Lillie Foerster and husband John of Giddings; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Lena Bohot; his brother, Herbert Bohot; his sisters: Annie Grimm, Minnie Christensen, Selma Hensel. A service was held on Sept. 1, 2007 at Phillips & Luckey Chapel with Rev. John Davis presiding. A memorial service will be held in George’s honor on Sept. 9, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Fischer Hall in Fischer, Texas. She worked in private home care and also owned a restaurant in south Texas. She was the manager of the EXXON station in Milano and worked in the Milano school cafeteria. In her free time Mariam enjoyed watching soap operas, gardening and flowers. Mariam is survived by her daughters: Loretta Charpiot of Crystal Beach, Edna L. Lyons and husband Ronnie of Milano, Jean Blaney and husband Richard of College Station; her sisters: Vera Williams of Rockdale, Mary Ponder of Tomball, Minnie Ola Ruzicka and husband Richard of Cameron, Edna Jean Olin of Tomball, and Joan Griffith and husband Richard of Rockdale; her grandchildren: Garland Charpiot and wife Denise, Brant Charpiot and wife Kim, Kelly Charpiot, Ronnie Lyons, Jr. annd wife Julie, Cherami Jenkins and husband Ryan, Donna Sessums and husband Billy, Stephanie Blaney; her great grandchildren: Crandall and Victoria Jenkins, Bryant Sessums, Brook and Maci Charpiot, Sailor McClay Lyons and Brick Pomeroy. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 24, 1960, her parents, sisters: Thelma Salinas and Evelyn Pearce; brothers: Geoge Morgan and Glen Ray Morgan, and her granddaughter Ellen Victoria Lyons on April 9, 1988. April 24, 1924 – Sept. 1, 2007 Marilyn was born in Lincoln on April 24, 1924 to Alfred and Agnes (Wenke) Sanders. She married Kyle Spence on Nov. 26, 1953 in Giddings and worked as an accountant for LCRA and Bluebonnet Electric. Marilyn is survived by: her husband, Kyle Spence of Giddings; her nephew, Garry Sanders and wife Leonita of Carmine, Texas; her niece, Becky Dunham and husband Johnny of Manvel, Texas; her sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ruby Ellen and Elbert Brown of Rockdale, Claude and Lanell Spence of Rockdale, Rodney and Lu Spence of Rockdale and Roxie Ann and Silee Bingham of Austin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Agnes Sanders and her brother, Henry A. Sanders. The family requests anyone wishing to give in her memory do so with a memorial sent to the Immanual Lutheran Building Fund in Giddings. August 25,1924-August 27,2007 Lawrence was inducted into the Army on July 25, 1944 and served in the Ardennes Battle in the Rhineland campaign in central Europe during WWII. He was honorably discharged Private First Class on May 22, 1946 with decorations and citations including three Bronze Service Stars, a Bronze Star Medal, WWII Victory Ribbon and Army of Occupation Ribbon. Lawrence served as Military Policeman and combat infantryman, as well as heavy machine gunner, ammunition handler and Post Exchange manager. Upon discharge, Lawrence worked as a butcher until 1947 when he became a route salesman for Jax beer, known to all as “Sonny”. Lawrence married Mary Siegmund of Lincoln on March 30, 1949. They were blessed with one son, Delbert. They resided in Manheim, living in a remodeled schoolhouse. Lawrence again joined the Army in active service in Korea from Sept. 26, 1950 through Sept. 21, 1951, earning the Korean Service medal with three Campaign stars. Lawrence continued in the beer business for many years and then worked for the maintenance Department of the City of Giddings until his retirement in 1989. For many years Lawrence was manager and assistant manager of both softball and baseball community league teams. He was active in Ebenezer Lutheran Church of Manheim serving several terms as elder. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife Mary, parents Herbert and Louise, brother Edgar and sister Frances Cypert. Sonny is survived by his son Delbert Wachsmann and wife Ann of Omaha, Nebraska; his grandchildren: Justin Wachsmann of Waco, and Libbie Wachsmann of Omaha, Nebraska; his sisters: Florence Williams of Houston, Ruth Jatzlau and husband Clarence of Giddings; his brothers: Clarence Wachsmann and wife Joy of Manheim, Milton Wachsmann and wife Ruby of Lincoln, Marvin Wachsmann and wife Jeanette of Tomball, Leroy Wachsmann and wife Mildred of Manheim; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral Services were held on Aug. 30, 2007 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim with Rev. Herbert Kiestmann officiating. Burial followed in the Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jeffrey Wachsmann, Dennis (Mickey) Wachsmann, Larry Wachsmann, Glenn Wachsmann, Curtis Kieschnick, Donnie Kieschnick, Ronnie Kieschnick. Kevin Durio was an honorary pallbearer. |
