Clarence R. Hengst

June 28, 1919 – October 25, 2007

Services for Clarence Reinhard Hengst were held on October 28, 2007 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale with burial following in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. James Mann presided. Pallbearers were Randy Keim, Dennis Hengst, Gregory Hengst, Allen Hengst, Craig Weiser, Jeff Patschke, Tim Falke and Allen Turner.

Clarence died at 88 years old on October 25, 2007 in the Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

A life-long resident of Thorndale, Clarence was born to Oscar and Alma (Niemtschk) Hengst on June 28, 1919. He married Ruth Schimank on October 17, 1948 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Thorndale: baptized on July 20, 1919 and confirmed on April 9, 1933. Clarence was a farmer. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of Thorndale VFW Post #4009.

Clarence is survived by daughter, Patsy Palm and husband, David, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; granddaughters, Monica Leatherwood and husband, Steve, of Richmond, Texas, Lara Pippin and husband, Charles, of Katy, Texas; brothers, Roy Hengst and wife, Adele, of Thorndale, Louis Hengst and wife, Annie Mae, of North Richland Hills, Texas, Eldee Hengst and wife, Deloris of Thorndale; sisters, Alice Melcher of Lexington, Bernice Keim and husband, Harvey, of Thorndale and Gladys Moerbe of Lubbock.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be send to St. Paul Lutheran Church, PO Box 369, Thorndale, TX 76577.

Barbara Wanoreck

August 17, 1937 – October 24, 2007

Barbara Wanoreck was born on August 17, 1937 in Cattail Ridge in Milam County, Texas to Marvin and Lily (Hook) McDonald. She married Ira “Sonny” Wanoreck on August 17, 1957 in San Gabriel, Texas. They had two children and nine grandchildren.

Barbara died at 70 years old in her home in Rockdale on October 24, 2007. Graveside services were held on October 27, 2007 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale with Rev. Calvin Springer presiding.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Ira “Sonny” Wanoreck of Rockdale; son, Mike Wanoreck of Milano; daughter Missy Marshall and husband, John, of Magnolia, Texas; grandchildren, Jason Wanoreck, Brandy Wanoreck, Sean Marshall, Shaun Horner, Promise Order, Taylor Wanoreck, Tristan Wanoreck Mandy Wanoreck and Laura Rock; and her special cousin, Ann Dreher of Independence, Kansas.

Albert J. Timmerman, Jr.

October 15, 1930 – October 26, 2007

Albert J. Timmerman, Jr., 77, died at Richard Memorial Hospital in Rockdale on Friday, October 26, 2007. Services were held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale and burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Pallbearers were Bruce Thaler, Brent Thaler, Gregory Smith, Brian Smith, Ken Clark and Wayne Clark. Honorary pallbearers were Guy Finstad, Bill Haley, Billy Hall, Darron Kunkel, Raymond Pond, J.T. Talley, Jim Throckmorton, Mike Loftice, John Shoemake and his classmates of 1947. Memorials may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church in Rockdale.

A life-long resident of Rockdale, Albert was born on October 15, 1930 to Albert John Timmerman, Sr. and Willie Lee (McLeod) Timmerman. He graduated from Rockdale High School in 1947. He married Edna J. Clark on June 10, 1951 and had two children and five grandchildren.

Albert received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University in 1951 and his Master of Education in 1956, achieving recognition as a Distinguished Graduate of the Department of Agriculture & Life Sciences of Texas A&M.

Albert was a Vocational Agriculture Teacher at Rockdale I.S.D. for 37 years. He served as President of the Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas and as President of the National Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association.

Albert was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, LCMS of Rockdale and a member of Gideons International.

Albert was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Air Force Reserves as a Major.

Albert is survived by his wife, Edna Timmerman of Rockdale; son, Robert Timmerman and wife, Karen, of Austin; daughter, Diane Simecek and husband, Ray, of Seguin; grandchildren: Norma Starcke of New Braunfels, Brian Timmerman of Austin, Eric Timmerman of College Station, Claire Starcke of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ashley Timmerman of College Station; and sister, Dorothy Thaler of Rockdale.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert J. Timmerman; his mother, Willie Lee Timmerman; and his granddaughter, Valarie Ann Timmerman.

Charles Stifflemire

November 29, 1941 – October 23, 2007

Funeral services for Charles Stifflemire were held on October 27, 2007 at the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Interment was in Knobb Springs Cemetery in Lee County. Rev. Geary McManus presided.

Charles died at the age of 66 on October 23, 2007 at his residence in Pearland, Texas where he lived most of his adult life.

He was born on November 29, 1941 in Lee County to Elmer Stifflemire and Iris Jean (Obier) Stifflemire. Charles worked as a truck tire repairman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Charles Dale Stifflemire on April 28, 1997; sisters, Mary Tyson and Patsy Wensche; and his brother, Johnny Earl Stifflemire.

He is survived by his sons, Sam Stifflemire of Pearland, Billy Stifflemire of Thorndale; daughters, Charlene Stifflemire of Dallas, Janette Stifflemire of Pearland, Sandy Hill of Kerrville; brothers, Larry Stifflemire and wife, Rebecca, of Caldwell, Eddie Stifflemire and wife, Elane, of Caldwell; sisters, Janell Kuempel and husband, Jack, of Rockport, Nora Morris of Muskeogee, Okla., Georgia Allen and husband, Kevin, of Lexington; sister-in-law, Patricia Stifflemire of Thorndale; brothers-in-law, Perry Tyson of Sterling City, Texas, Leonard Wuensche of Thorndale; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Johnny Obier, Joe Sanchez, Eddie Stifflemire, Jr., Carl Wenreck, Jr., Kevin Allen and Jack Kuempel.

Delphas Jewart

March 24, 1925 – October 17, 2007

Delphas “Dell” Jewart, 82, died on October 17, 2007 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Graveside services were held on October 27, 2007 in the Murray Cemetery near Rockdale. Rev. Earl Presley from the First Christian church in Rockdale presided.

Dell was born on March 24, 1925 in Yatesboro, Pennsylvania to Dorsey and Dessie (Uplinger) Jewart. He built pads for drilling rigs, working for several construction companies, then 12 years with Milam County Precinct 3 as a heavy equipment operator.

Dell is survived by his wife, Jeanette Jewart of Rockdale; his son, Richard “Dick” Jewart of Washington; his daughters, JoAnn of Phoenix, Arizona, Connie Parks of Virginia, Judy Possier of Pennsylvania; his brother, Howard Jewart of Colorado and his granddaughter, Kim.

Pallbearers were Russell Stewart, Mark Talley, Boyd Taylor and John T. Fischer.

Tracie Llanas Salazar

July 12, 1979 – October 19, 2007

Tracie Llanas Salazar, 29, died on October 19, 2007, following a motor vehicle accident. The funeral was held on October 23, 2007 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale with interment following in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. Gregory Hanks presided.

Tracie was born on July 12, 1979 in Harris County, Texas to Domingo Llanas, Sr. and Pauline Valero Salas. She married Timothy Salazar and had three children.

Tracie graduated from Rockdale High School in 1997. She was a licensed beautician graduating from Charles and Sue’s Beauty School in Bryan. She was a CNA nursing assistant at Manor Oaks Nursing Home and a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Cameron.

Tracie was preceded in death by her brother, Felix Llanas and maternal grandparents, Pedro Valero and Paula Guzman Valero.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Salazar of Rockdale; her son, Christopher Eric Salazar of Rockdale; her daughters, Katy Marie Salazar and Erika Lynn Salazar of Rockdale; her father, Domingo Llanas, Sr. of Hearne; her mother, Pauline Salas and husband, Jesus, of Rockdale; her brother, Domingo Llanas II and wife, Tiffany, of Rockdale; her sisters, Darlene Llanas and husband, Valentine Canales, of Rockdale, Brittany Nicole Llanas of Rockdale; paternal grandparents, Ignacia Alonzo and Pedro Llanas of Rockdale and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
