Giddings Police Report

    May 4, 2009 While on routine patrol, Officer Shane conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was identified and did not have a driver's license on file. An odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. Full Story

Lexington Homecoming 2009 1st Annual Pet Contest

    On Friday May 1, 2009 Lexington held the 1st Annual Homecoming Pet Contest. Approximately 30 proud pet owners brought their beloved animals and participated in a variety of competitions. The Pet Contest began with Best Dressed competition. Full Story

The Lexington Rotary Club recently completed a book drive for schools and libraries in South Africa through the Second Wind Foundation. Rotary Clubs from across the nation provide gently used books and pay for shipment to several countries in Africa. The steel shipping containers used to carry the books are then converted to health clinics and school rooms.020p1_xlg.jpg

Fayette County Country Opry

    The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, May 18, 2009 at the KC Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7:30 P.M. and the doors will open at 5:30 P.M. Admission is only $5.00. Full Story
