Mary A. Tristan

Memorial services for Mary Tristan, 78, formerly of El Campo, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the La Grange Seventhday Adventist Church in La Grange, Texas.

Mary (Alaniz) Tristan was born on December 30, 1940 in Mackay, Texas, the daughter of Alfredo and Margarita (Mendoza) Alaniz. She grew up and attended school in El Campo, Texas.

Mary retired from Cordell Cabinets in El Campo after working there for over 17 years. She was always a hard worker who worked most of her life.

Mary enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed cooking for them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo Alaniz and Margarita Rodriguez; her husband, Donnie Tristan; her grandson, James Garcia and several brothers and sisters.

Mary is survived by her three children, Susan Garcia & her husband, Jesse of Placedo, Diana Leal of Dime Box and David Sanchez & his wife, Brenda of La Grange; seven grandchildren, Jess Garcia of Placedo, Dave Garcia & his wife, Elsie of Jacksonville, FL, Alfred Medina Jr. & his wife, Rachel of Tampa, FL, Sasha Becker of Hutto, David Sanchez Jr. & his wife, Miranda of Giddings, Daniel Sanchez of La Grange and Dylan Sanchez of La Grange; eighteen great grandchildren, Jessalyn Garcia of Placedo, Jesse James Garcia of Placedo, Grace, Faith and Hope Garcia of Jacksonville, FL, Jamie Garcia of Placedo, Alazae Morales of Placedo, John Morales of Placedo, Cameron Medina and Hannah Medina both of Tampa, FL, Destiny, Desiree and Delayna Becker all of Austin and Tristan, David III, Kaleb, Allyssa and Logan Sanchez all of Giddings; six sisters, Dora Alaniz of San Antonio, Maggie McCullough & her husband, Tommy of Helena, MT, Carmen Gonzalez & her husband, Juan of El Campo, Anita Contreras of El Campo, Adela Samarippas & her husband, Joe of El Campo and Janie Guel of El Campo; two brothers, Ricky Alaniz & his wife, Debbie of Ganado and Joe Alaniz of The Valley as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the La Grange Seventh-day Adventist Church or the charity of one’s choice.
