Vivian Morrison Wilburn

Vivian Morrison Wilburn, age 82 of Rockdale, gained her wings Tuesday afternoon, November 6, 2018 in the Renaissance Villa in Rockdale, surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral services were held on November 13, 2018 at the Pecan Street Church of Christ in Rockdale with brother John Mitchell officiating. Vivian was born August 13, 1936 in Tanglewood, Texas to Etta Vernell (Marion) and James Morrison, Sr. She was a graduate of Bartlett High School and a graduate of Christian Beauty School of Austin. Vivian met Elihue Wilburn Sr., and they married January 15, 1958. To this union one child was born. She worked 35 years as a cook and waitress. You could find her at Andy’s CafĂ© and later The Piano Bar both in Rockdale. She retired in 2009. She was a member of Pecan Street Church of Christ. Vivian was well known for her cooking, her smile and her jokes. She loved to play bingo, cards and dominoes. She had an impact on anyone she ever came in contact with. She was preceded in death by her parents, Etta Vernell Gates and James Morrison Sr.; a brother, James Morrison Jr. and a sister Willie Lee Burks. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Elihue Wilburn Sr. of Rockdale; daughters, Minister Dorene and Dr. Gregory Abrams of San Antonio and Shirley and Pastor Charles Embra of Rockdale; son, Elihue Wilburn, Jr. of Rockdale; ten grandchildren, Anissa Wilburn, Shuree Morrison, Vanette Wilburn, Teresa Morrison, Koneiko Jackson and husband Barry, Allex Morrison, Crestal Williamson and husband Jason, Myron Embra and wife Terrica, LaTaira Wilburn and LaKeshia Wilburn; a special granddaughter, Tangelia Harris; 32 greatgrandchildren, 18 great-greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers, Excel l Nelson, Tony Crawford Jr. , Edward Dansby Jr., Katory Morrison, Christopher Nickerson and DeSean Jackson. Honorary pallbearers were, John Robertson Jr., Jermaine Robertson, Allen Dunn, Fred Dunn, Allex Morrison and Myron Embra.
