Elton Ervin Kaiser

Funeral services for Elton Kaiser, 80, of Northrup, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin, Texas with Rev. John Schmidt officiating.

Elton Ervin Kaiser passed away the morning of Saturday, August 4, 2018 at his home in Northrup surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 13, 1938 in Lexington, Texas, the son of the late Ludwig Karl Kaiser and Sophie Amanda (Drosche) Kaiser. He was baptized on May 23, 1938 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington by Rev. George Kautz and confirmed on April 29, 1953 also at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington by Rev. Paul Stengle Jr. His confirmation verse was John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. Elton was united in marriage to Evelyn (Zoch) Kaiser on July 16, 1960 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin by Rev. Arthur Arndt. He worked for Dime Box Drywall in Houston for many years. He, along with his family, loved hunting, fishing and camping. Elton enjoyed many family gatherings and loved to play dominoes with his family. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludwig & Sophie (Drosche) Kaiser; his sisters, Florine Iselt & her husband, Ferman Sr., Erline Dunn & her husband, Kenneth, and Ilda Symmank; his brother-in-law, Franklin Boettcher; his niece, Debra Landry, and his nephews, Delbert Boettcher and Ronnie Exner. Elton is survived by his wife of 58 years, Evelyn (Zoch) Kaiser of Northrup. They were blessed with four children, Brenda Irwin & her husband, Larry of Northrup, Sandra Kalbas & her husband, Leroy of Northrup, Diane Childs & her husband, Jay of Elgin, and Allen Kaiser & his wife, Lana of Serbin. He was highly blessed with eleven grandchildren, Rachel Kainer & her husband, Nelson of Weimar, Devon Kalbas & his wife, Nicci of Northrup, Donna Cooper & her husband, Nolan of Northrup, Kendra Kalbas of Northrup, Emma Irwin of Northrup, Thomas Irwin & his wife, Faith of Northrup, Chris Habel of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Courtney Kaiser of College Station, Olivia Habel of San Marcos, William Habel of College Station, and Allison Kaiser of College Station. Elton is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren, Dawson, Nickalos and Madeline Cooper, Landon Bledsoe, Wyatt and Kaiser Irwin, Makalia, Cameron, Clayton, Conner, Tucker, Grainger and Navee Kalbas. Surviving also are his sister, Lillie Mae Boettcher of Lexington; his brother, Charles Kaiser of Lexington; his brother-in-law, Alfred Symmank of Cypress, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Donald Boettcher, Franklin Boettcher Jr., Karl Dunn, Ferman Iselt Jr., James Schneider and David Symmank. Honorary pallbearers will be Elton’s grandsons, Devon Kalbas, Thomas Irwin, Christopher Habel and William Habel. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin or to the charity of one’s choice.
