Ofelia Garza

Funeral services for Ofelia Garza, 72, of Giddings, were held on Wednesday, May 16, 2017 at the First Assembly of God in Giddings with Pastor Mike Glover officiating. Ofelia passed away the morning of Friday, May 11, 2018 at her residence in Giddings following a hard fought battle against cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eduardo & Margarita Salas; her two husbands, Manuel Y. Martinez and Juan Garza; her daughter, Veronica Martinez; one grandson, Derrick Marez; one granddaughter, Stephanie Garza; one great granddaughter, Grace Lynn Carleton; son-in-law, Eddie Galindo; two sisters, Eva Conde and Oralia Ramirez and one brother, Valdo Salas Jr. Ofelia is survived by her eleven children, Erma & Lane Morris of Austin, Manuel Martinez of Hobbs, New Mexico, Mary & Cesar Jimenez of Austin, Melissa Galindo of Wink, David & Amy Garza of Giddings, Maurice & Sonya Martinez of Snyder, Monica & Osman Cruz of Houston, Matthew Joshua Martinez of Giddings, Hortensia “Maggie” Garza of Giddings, Joanie Garza & Vicente Segura of Giddings and Juan Antonio “Gordo” Garza of Giddings; twenty four grandchildren, Logan Morris, David Granger, Juan Jose Martinez, Devin Williams, Tyler Williams, Emma Sophia Jimenez, Andy Galindo, Amber Galindo, Adrian Galindo, David Garza Jr., Destiny Garza, Tabitha Barron, Natalie Martinez, Kaitlyn Biswell, Dustyn Carleton, David Dill Jr., Guy Manuel Dill, Natasha Ann Palomo, Noelia Garza, Vanessa Gabriella Segura, Naudia Skyy Segura, Elsa Marez, Vicente “ Tito” Segura III and Sarah ( Fischer) Dill; twenty six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be David Garza Jr., Adrian Galindo, Juan Garza, David Dill Jr., Logan Morris, Vicente “Tito” Segura III and Natalie Marie Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be David Garza, Manuel J. Martinez Jr., Maurice J. Martinez, Matthew J. Martinez, Vicente Segura Jr., Dustyn Carleton, Juan Macedo, Steven Mamon, Terry Page, Tony Salas, Robert Salas, Alonzo Salas, Jay Hamilton, Andy Galindo, Osman Cruz and Guy Manuel Dill. Memorials may be made to the Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center in Giddings, Resolutions Hospice or to the charity of one’s choice.
