Alburta Louise Stork

Funeral services for Alburta Stork, 93, of Giddings, were held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Giddings with Tim Pitts officiating. Alburta Louise (Friedrichs) Stork was born on August 2, 1924 in Goliad, Texas to Walter L. and Viola (Tuttle) Friedrichs. She was united in marriage to John Caleb “J.C.” Stork on February 22, 1944 in Goliad. This union was blessed with four children; John, Linda, Mary and James. Alburta was a loving and devoted homemaker to her husband, children and grandchildren. Alburta was a faithful supporter of her husband’s ministry as a Baptist minister and was active in the churches that he pastored in Missouri, Kansas and Texas. They were married for nearly 55 years when he preceded her death on January 20, 1999. Alburta was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Giddings. She enjoyed sewing, reading, studying genealogy and was an excellent cook. Alburta passed away the afternoon of Monday, May 7, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Giddings following a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death by her parents; Walter & Viola Friedrichs, her husband, John “ J. C.” Stork, her great granddaughter, Alana Jacobs, one brother, Walter David Friedrichs and three sisters, Anna Beth Green, Virginia Rae Valentine and Mary Jo Miller. She is survived by her four children, John Stork and his wife, Cathie of Giddings, Linda Rizzo and her husband, Joe of Giddings, Mary Stork of Giddings, and James Stork of Giddings; special daughter, Joy Kotal and her husband, Pat of Tomball; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; one brother, Roger Friedrichs and his wife, Jane of Milano; one sister, Grace Ellen Beckner of Irving, as well as countless nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be John Davis, Joseph Schuelke, Ty Stork, Randy Rejona, Troy Irwin and Ricky Friedrichs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 1048 North Jefferson Street, LaGrange, Texas 78945 or to a charity of one’s choice. The Stork family would also like to personally thank Karla Graham with Visiting Angels for her loving care that she provided Alburta.
