Mary Lee Smith

Funeral services for Mary Smith, 91, of Giddings, Texas, were held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin, Texas with Rev. John Schmidt officiating.

Mary Lee (Arnold) Smith was born on June 26, 1926 in Houston County, Texas, the daughter of Robert and Lena (Stubbs) Arnold.

She was a beloved grandmother, great grandmother and adored friend who lived, loved and laughed. She was a woman who’s kindness was astonishing, who thought of others before herself.

She loved to work with the youth of Giddings to help better their future. She was involved and loved her church and church family and was a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin, Texas since October 7, 1973.

She was an incredibly social woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness and love!

She embodied class with a kind and fun personality and she loved to laugh and make others laugh!

Sh was a woman of strength, who worked hard as a welder’s assistant during World War II in the shipyards in Houston and later as a beautician.

Mary fell in love and married Raymond W. Smith on August 1, 1964. She passed away the morning of Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in New Braunfels, Texas.

Mary is now reunited with her love, Raymond and her son, Clayton Flowers, Jr., at their final resting place in eternal peace.

Mary Lee Smith leaves behind her only granddaughter, Tonya Hall and her husband, Chris of New Braunfels; three great granddaughters, Cheyanne Astin and her husband, Roger of San Antonio, Cierra Morgan of New Braunfels and Kylie-Grace Hall of New Braunfels; two sisters, Billie Jean Warner of Crockett and Minnie Brasher of Washington and many, many friends who will forever honor and cherish her memory.
