Ruth Mildred Wachsmann

Funeral services for Ruth Wachsmann, 85, of Lincoln, were held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Ruth Mildred (Woelfel) Wachsmann was born on May 2, 1932 in Lincoln, to Louis August Woelfel Sr. and Pauline Alma (Noack) Woelfel. She was united in marriage to Harry Ervin Wachsmann on March 11, 1951 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln by Rev. H.A. Stroebel.

Ruth passed away the evening of Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Giddings Residence and Rehabilitation Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Alma Woelfel; her granddaughter, Sherry Maass; three sisters, Emilie Birnbaum & her husband, Wilbert “Boots” Sr., Alice “Tootsie” Fischer & her husband, Noah, and Ellen “Jonnie” Schulze; three brothers, Milton Woelfel, Clarence “Harry” Woelfel & his wife, Doris, and Randolph Woelfel; two sisters-in-law, Novaline Woelfel and Irene Behrens & her husband, Conrad; two brothers-inlaw, Leon Wachsmann & his wife, Gloria, and Jimmy Bird; and parents-in-law, Emil & Lillie Wachsmann.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harry Wachsmann; three children, Linda Maass & her husband, Stanley of Manheim, Royce Wachsmann & his wife, Betty of Dripping Springs and Clifton Wachsmann & his wife, Betty of Giddings; six grandchildren, Dr. Jason & Dr. Megan Wachsmann of Dallas, Pamela & Ryan Schoeneberg of Weimar, Heather & Matthew Keller of Waco, Cortney & Clark Strickland of Giddings, Amy & J. P. Perez of Paige and Ethan & Kelsey Wachsmann of Giddings; eight great grandchildren, Dylan Wachsmann and Harry Wachsmann both of Dallas, Gavin Schoeneberg and Zoe Schoeneberg both of Weimar, Jax Strickland and Kallie Strickland both of Giddings, Adelynn Perez of Paige and Audrey Keller (who is expected to arrive on February 12th); two sisters, Vernie Arldt & her husband, Erwin “E.A.” of Paige, and Lorine “Toddie” Patschke & her husband, Monroe of Lincoln; one brother, Louis “Sam” Woelfel Jr. of Thorndale; four sisters-in-law, Mildred Woelfel of Manheim, Marilyn Woelfel of Lexington, Adeline Bird of Giddings and Bernice Healer & her husband, Bill of Pasadena; one brother-in-law, Melvin Schulze of Giddings, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Resolution Hospice in Bastrop, or to the charity of one’s choice.
