Charles Donnas Nicholson

Charles Donnas Nicholson, 81 of Lexington, passed away Wednesday evening, October 4, 2017 in the Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Rev. David Atwood of Knobbs Springs Baptist Church and Rev. Michael Herns of Tanglewood Baptist Church officiated.

Charles Donnas Nicholson, a 33 year resident of Lexington, was born September 17, 1936 in Moscow, Texas to Samuel Reevis and Viola Elizabeth (Ellis) Nicholson. He and Janey C. Martin were married in Nogales Sonora, Mexico in November 26, 1966.

Charles had four children. He worked at Commercial Construction pipefitter and welder and was a member of Pipefitters Local #211 for 50 years.

He and Dorothy Ann Fenske were married on March 23, 2011. Charles enjoyed crafts, woodworking, music and dominos. He was president of Lexington Senior Citizens. He was the founder of the Food Pantry in Tanglewood and Lexington. He and his wife Dorothy enjoyed cruising and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Janey Nicholson on January 12, 2009, his parents and a grandson, Jeremy Craig Johnson.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Nicholson of Lexington; two sons, Randy Nicholson (Susanne) of Spring and Gary Nicholson of Liverpool, Texas; two daughters, Cherry Nicholson Sanford (Starla) of Manville, Texas and Ramona Lurker (Blake) of Victoria; two brothers, Wayne Nicholson of California and Sammy Nicholson (Lordes) of Pasadena, Texas; 21 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.
