Steven Westcott Kimey was born on January 15, 1949 in Brenham, Texas, the son of Milton & Shirley Kimey. He passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Conroe Texas.

Known as “Steve”, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Matthew Sherwood Kimey and Gary Leroy Kimey.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 29 years, Phyllis Bates; his son, J.C. Kimey and wife Charla, of Dallas; his daughter Neely Kimey, of Austin. Also his sister, Cynthia Kimey and husband Client Murphy of Thorndale, TX, plus his brother Mike Kimey and wife Vada, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Grandchildren, Malik Kimey of Plano, TX, Quentin Kimey of Dallas and Nickolas Kimey of Dallas, and a host of special nieces and nephews, extended family and many lifelong friends, too numerous to list.

Steve graduated from Giddings High School in 1967 and attended Blinn Junior College.

He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 18 years, then went into sales, and owned his own investment firm for a number of years, which he operated from home.

Always an optimist, Steve met each day smiling and singing, no matter what life threw at him. He never met a stranger and was a good friend to many.
