Edna Lorine Kieschnick

Funeral services for Edna Kieschnick, 88, of Lincoln were held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating.

Edna Lorine (Winkler) Kieschnick was born in Fedor, Texas on February 15, 1929 to Ludwig Herman and Ottilie Francisca (Exner) Winkler. She was baptized in Christ on February 24, 1929 at The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor by Pastor Walter Dorre. She professed her faith by being confirmed on April 18, 1943 also in Fedor. Her confirmation verse was 1 Corinthians 9:24 “ Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.”

She married George Kieschnick on October 28, 1950 in Fedor, Texas. They were blessed with 6 children. Edna was a homemaker until she began working at Invader Boats, Inc. as a carpet layer until the business closed and she retired. She enjoyed gardening and was very successful at growing many plants that she loved. Appointments that needed to be made were scheduled around the weekly Domino Thursday with her friends, she enjoyed playing dominoes up until the week before her passing. Things were also scheduled around her weekly hair appointment on Friday by her dear friend Peggy Bertsch. She spoiled her children and grandchildren with her homemade treats including oatmeal crispy cookies, cut out sugar cookies, and delicious cinnamon rolls. In later years she enjoyed attending sporting events, picnics, and livestock shows, while supporting her beloved grandchildren.

Edna passed away the evening of Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Giddings Residence and Rehabilitation Center in Giddings.

Edna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, George Kieschnick; grandson, Jay Pronk; parents, Ludwig and Ottilie Winkler; brother Irwin and Bernice Winkler; sister Ruby and Ray Pillack; inlaws, Herman and Martha Kieschnick, brothers in law and sisters in law Gus and Ruth Kieschnick, Sidonia Cromanes, Elsie and Robert Zoch Sr., Elmo and Allyne Kieschnick, Bernice and Arnold Zscheck, Elberta and Hugh Emmons, Herman Kieschnick Jr., Alton Kieschnick, and Aileen Rutz.

Edna is survived by her six children, Rev. Clyde and Ellen Kieschnick of Abilene, Michael and Janet Kieschnick of Terrell, Jennifer and Willie Walther of Lincoln, Rueben “Johnny” and Brenda Kieschnick of Lincoln, Lynette and Calvin Patschke of Lincoln, and Fitzgerald “Fritz” and Mary Kieschnick of Lincoln; grandchildren, Brian and Whitney Kieschnick, Darren Kieschnick, Amy and James Johnsey, Jeremy and Katie Kieschnick, Joanna Wilson, Byron and Kristina Walther, Barry and Susan Walther, Johnny and Belinda Silva, Brandy and Aaron Gross, Jason and Carrie Kieschnick, Priscilla and Brandon Plumlee, Cara and Nathan Flory, Le Ann Patschke, Justin Kieschnick, Julia Kieschnick, and Jenna Rae Kieschnick; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; special family members, Jason, Kim and Brynlee Haas; sister-in-law and brothers-in-laws, Evelyn and Herb Frosch Jr., Kurt Rutz, Adeline Kieschnick, and John Cromeans.
