PHOTO BY MARK STRAIN Dylan Dussetschleger tied for second place in the pole vault with a leap of 13’9” with a vaulter from Rockdale. The Rockdale vaulter got the second-place medal and a trip to the state meet due to tiebreaking rules. Dussetschleger is the Region III alternate to state.

The rest of the Eagle contingent had good performances, but fell short of the state meet, which is everyone’s goal. Ryan Garrison placed 4th in the 110 High Hurdles, running a 15.16. Teammate JaKobe Cooper placed fifth in the same event, running a 15.19. This is Garrison’s last track meet wearing the green and gold. Cooper will be back to try again next season.

The Eagle 4x100 relay team of Sam Perry, Nic Dillon, Garrison, and Cooper ran a 43.33 in the preliminaries. Garrison ran the 300 Intermediate Hurdles in the prelims. Cooper also competed in the long jump, leaping 20’9”. Precious Speaks participated in the Triple Jump, but did not qualify for state.
