Zgaybay Honored for Her Achievements

Amanda Zgaybay last week was selected by KBTX News 3 out of Bryan as the Sports Classroom Champion for her academic and athletic achievements.

Amanda has a 4.3 grade point average, putting her in the top ten percent of her class, which well qualifies her to be in the athletic program.

Her teachers give her kudos for being so dedicated in class. She works hard to make sure she has the class assignments ready and on time. Amanda doesn’t fall behind and is a good example for the other students in her class.

This year in sports, Amanda has been on the volleyball team, and, is currently on the girls’ softball team.

In volleyball this year, she was a 1st Team All-District selection, as well as being an Honorable Mention in All- State.

On the teams she competes, she has grown to be a leader and an inspiration to her teammates. Amanda, as a leader, gives the team sports her all when she is on the court or on the field. She feels that she can help the team best, leading by example.

Her teammates feed off her enthusiasm and it helps them strive to be more competitive.

Academically, Amanda is driven to perfection; she is involved in the National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, FCA, 4-H, UIL, and the Texas Association of Future Educators.

In UIL, Amanda has been a State Qualifier in Word Processing and Web Team Design. With this much ambition, Amanda is bound for greatness and her first step is to attend Texas A&M University after graduating from high school.
