Erase that inning and the Lady Eagles win.

Lexington scored in the first inning on a single by Grace Patschke, a sacrifice bunt by Courtney Strain, and an RBI double by Kylie Hobbs. The 1-0 lead held up until the bottom of the third inning, when Academy hit a two out single, followed by a triple, and another single. This was just setting the stage for the Bee fourth.

Academy hitters were tuned in to Hobbs in the fourth as they smacked seven singles, a walk, and an Eagle fielding error to post the seven runs.

Lexington scored one run in the fifth inning. Amanda Zgabay reached on a fielder’s choice, stole second, and scored on Kynslie Meyer’s double off the wall.

Meyer singled home Zgabay. Strain singled home Meyer to make the score 9-5, but that was the end of the Lexington threat.
