4-H Livestock Judging Qualifies for State

The Lee County 4-H Senior Livestock Judging team won 3rd Place at the Multi-District Judging Contest, earning the team a place at Texas 4-H State Roundup. Multi-District Judging was April 22 at Texas A&M University in College Station. Team members were Bo Enderlin, Joel Mackey, Teegan Mackey and Bailey Lyon.

The Livestock Judging Contest consisted of eight different classes; 3 beef, 2 swine, 2 sheep and 1 goat. Team members must rank four different livestock within one of the classes from top to bottom. Then the members must give oral reasons on why they placed the class as they did.

Joel Mackey was 6th high point individual and Teegan Mackey was 10th high point individual and led the Lee County Team. Emme Dallmeyer placed 14th high individual in the Junior division and competed as an Individual.

Trevor Dickschat, Agriculture and Natural Resources County Agent, is the team’s coach.
