April 10, 2017

Officer Walton took a report of a possible check scam.

Officer Walton took a report of a runaway. During contact it was found that the juvenile had not ran away, but was hiding in the residence.

April 12, 2017

Officer Mattingly conducted a civil standby in the 500 block of First Street. A criminal trespass warning was also issued to the subject during the standby.

Officer Walton received a call of a reckless driver (blue SUV) coming into town from Tanglewood. He checked the area but was unable to locate the subject vehicle.

Officer Walton received a call of a reckless driver (black Chevy truck) heading towards Tanglewood. He checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

Officers Walton, Terpstra, and ACO Landrum, along with Deputies Nurse and Nelson, were looking into a vehicle of interest at the Lexington Car Wash when a large amount of methamphetamines were located in the subject vehicle.

Officer Nolen responded to the 400 block of Hale Street on a medical assist.

Officer Nolen heard a call of a hit and run go over the radio from Giddings. He staged at the southern city limits in case the subject vehicle came north. After waiting several minutes for the subject vehicle, Officer Nolen cleared unable to locate.

April 13, 2017

Officer Nolen responded to a call of several vehicles reckless driving in the 1200 block of Giddings Street. Subjects were gone upon arrival; however, eye witnesses were able to name subjects on scene.

April 14, 2017

Officer Nolen took a call of criminal mischief in the 300 block of First Street.

Officer Walton took a call of a reckless driver coming into the city from FM 696W. The red Chevy Cavalier was not located; however, it was forwarded to the next city of last know direction of travel.

Officer Walton took a call of a loose horse at 7th and Hale Street. Owner was contacted.

Officer Mattingly took a report of possible criminal mischief in the 700 block of Main.

April 15, 2017

Officer Mattingly took a report of a disturbance in the 600 block of Ave C. One party left but returned later that evening to the 1100 block of Caldwell Street, causing another disturbance. Subject left town after collecting personal items from the residence on Caldwell.

April 16, 2017

Officer Mattingly checked on a vehicle at St. Joseph’s clinic due to the driver’s girlfriend being sick. The officer offered to call EMS, but the couple refused.

Officer Mattingly conducted a traffic stop which yielded a DWI arrest.

Officer Walton worked a crash in which a truck and trailer struck the drive-through awning at Fresh Donuts. Driver and manager swapped information prior to Officers arrival.

Officer Mattingly was called on a vehicle broke down at Harry and HWY 77. He notified Lee County and advised them of the location of the subject vehicle.

April 17, 2017

Officer Walton took a report of criminal mischief at the elementary school and the city park.

There were 119 traffic stops conducted last week, resulting in 43 citations and 76 warnings. Twelve of the offenses were in the school zone.
