Memorial services for Carolyn Scott, 60, of Giddings, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ in Dime Box, Texas with Pastor Annie Scurlock officiating. Burial will be in Copperas Cemetery in Doak Springs, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
Carolyn Ann Scott was born on August 22, 1956 in Bogalusa, Louisiana, the daughter of Johnny Lee Bickham, Sr. and Zola Bell Bickham. She received her Bachelor of Science and Nursing Degree from Nebraska Methodist College. She was a loving nurse and caregiver who most recently worked for Angels of Care Home Health. Carolyn was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Dime Box and was also an ordained minister. Mission programs always held a special place in her heart and she faithfully supported missions worldwide, including those in India, Africa, South American and numerous Indian reservations. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, watching movies and spending time with her family.
Carolyn passed away unexpectedly the morning of Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her home in Giddings.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Lee Bickham, Sr.
Carolyn is survived by her six children, Sherry Scott of Lubbock, Adrain Scott of Giddings, Elisabeth Scott of Giddings, Joshua Scott of Mansfield, Joseph Scott of Mansfield and Anna Scott of Giddings; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Scott, Brice Scott and Ryan Scott all of Giddings; her mother, Zola Bell Bickham of Covington, Louisiana; three sisters, Janice Guillory (Reginald) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sandra Patterson (Eric) of Covington, Louisiana and Angelia Pea (Mark) of Covington, Louisiana; seven brothers, Johnny Bickham, Jr. (Antwinette) of Slidell, Louisiana, Calvin Bickham of Covington, Louisiana, Leroy Bickham (Debbie) of Covington, Louisiana, George Bickham (Brenda) of Uneedus, Louisiana, James Darryl Bickham (Debbie) of Port Arthur, Kenneth Bickham (Vanessa) of Covington, Louisiana and Michael Bickham (Kim) of Covington, Louisiana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
