Dominy Ranked in Top 12 in the State


Brandon Dominy Brandon Dominy Brandon Dominy, a LHS Senior, placed 2nd in Poetry Interpretation in the Region 3 Academic UIL Meet last Saturday. He will advance to the State Meet to be held on May 22nd and 23rd in Austin. He is now ranked in the top twelve of state Interpretation speakers and is eligible for the Texas Interscholastic League Scholarships. He, along with 18 other students and two alternates competed in the event.

The LHS Computer Science Team, consisting of Logan Bowen, Chase Allert, and Wesley Sanders, finished 5th at the meet.

The LHS Social Studies Team, consisting of Rachel Zgabay, Abigal Dillon, Blake Ragland and Jace Creel, finished 5th . Teammate Rachel Zgabay placed 6th in the individual competition and Abigail Dillon placed 9th.

Representing District 20, Lexington High School finished 2nd behind Academy. Elkhart High School was the overall Regional Contest winner.

Lexington’s coordinator, Emily Cowen said, “Thank you to the students who competed at the Region 3 Academic Meet this past Saturday and to their Coaches! Your hard work and dedication made a difference. You did a great job representing your school.”
