Beef Casserole
Chef Deedle

Deciding what to make for dinner is half the battle with nightly meals. Now-a-days, more Mamas work but still have the responsibility to cook a decent and tasty meal for the family. Here is one that is quick and easy.

1 egg, slightly beaten
2 (8 oz) cans crescent rolls, divided
1½ lbs ground lean beef
1 small onion, chopped fine
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup chili sauce
1 Tbs. Worchestershire sauce
3/4 tsp garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste.
Topping: sour cream and salsa

Unroll 1 can crescent rolls and press into a lightly greased 13 x 9 inch panorpyrex dish.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Cook ground beef and onion in a large skillet, stirring until beef crumbles and is no longer pink. Drain if necessary.

Stir in cheese and next 6 ingredients; spoon over crust.

Unroll remaining can of crescent rolls and shape perforations to seal; cut into 1/2 inch strips. Arrange strips in a lattice design over beef mixture. Baste with egg wash.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until golden. Let stand 10 minutes. Serve with sour cream and salsa. Also, serve with a tossed green salad.
