Elvia Walker Allen

Funeral services for Elvia Walker Allen, 95 of Dime Box, Texas, were held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ in Dime Box, Texas with Rev. Annie Scurlock officiating.

Elvia Walker Allen was born on February 16, 1922 in Fayette County, Tennessee, the daughter of Elijah and Georgia Mae (Ford) Walker. She married Mr. Allen and gave birth to Linda Faye Allen.

Mama Allen came into the ministry of Jesus Christ in 1970 and later moved to Texas in 1973. She worked as a housekeeper. She started working with Sister Annie in 1977 and was actively involved in the church. She had a burden for children and formed the “Little Flock” where she taught the children scriptures from the Bible and songs. She also had a burden for Missions and taught the children to raise money and support Missions. Mama loved playing the rub board and tambourine, singing and praising God, but above all, she loved the Word of God.

Mama Allen passed away the evening of Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her home in Dime Box.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah & Georgia Mae Walker and her brother, L.D. Walker from Chicago.

Mama Allen leaves behind to celebrate her home-going her daughter, Linda Faye Coleman of Houston, Texas; her granddaughter, LaTonya Renee Coefield & her husband, Timothy of Houston, Texas; her grandson, Calvin Dewayne McDonald of Georgia; her six great grandchildren, Kianna L. Dunham, Amariah R. Dunham, Keri Dunham and Cameron Dunham all of Houston, Texas and Aalyah McDonald and Charmin McDonald, both of Canada, and a host of brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Memorials may be given to the Church of Jesus Christ Missions Fund in Dime Box, Texas.
