Suzanne Bradford

Funeral services for Suzanne Bradford, 69 of Giddings, were held Friday, March 24, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Giddings with Rev. Steve Knott officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery.

Suzanne (Gilbert) Bradford was born on August 27, 1947 in Monett, Missouri, the daughter of Glen Gilbert and Anna Dee (Sullivan) Gilbert. She married Vance Bradford on August 22, 1970 in Dumas, Texas. Their union was blessed with two children, Brian and Vanessa.

She received her Bachelor of Arts from Wayland Baptist and her Masters of Speech Pathology from the University of Western Kentucky. She worked as a speech therapist for Giddings ISD co-op and then for the Burton ISD Co-op. Suzanne was an active member of First Baptist Church where she was an organist and a member of the church outreach team. She was also a member of the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, the CCC-SLP, and the U.S. Army Officer Wife’s Club. She enjoyed music, painting, acting during College, baking cakes for others, reading, collecting tea pots, and traveling. Her family, especially her grandchildren, were the joy of her life.

Suzanne passed away at St. David’s in Austin on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Anna Dee Gilbert; father, Royal V. Pitts and her father-in-law, Brad Bradford.

Suzanne is survived by her husband, Vance of Giddings; son, Brian Bradford of Austin; daughter, Vanessa Bradford of Giddings; grandchildren, Madeline Ruby Bradford and Valarie Marie Bradford of Elgin; mother-in-law, Jean Tasker Bradford of La Grange, as well as numerous cousins and extended family.
