Mary June Pryor

Funeral services for Mary Pryor, 79, were held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Ridgeway Baptist Church in Paige, Texas with Pastors Jack Gilmore and Roger Osborn officiating.

Mary was born on June 4, 1937 in Anson, Texas to Roy C. and Mable E. (Mize) Swift. Mary attended public schools in Seagraves, Seminole and Houston, Texas. After graduation she met and married Freddie Leon Pryor, Sr. on October 23, 1953 in Houston, Texas, where they lived and started a family.

Mary was a hard working loving mother and grandmother. She worked as an assistant manager to several grocery stores in Duncanville, Texas and as a manager of several convenience stores in the Bastrop and Austin areas. She also worked alongside her husband in his lawn care business that served Bastrop and Lee County. Mary was an active member of Ridgeway Baptist Church where she helped teach Sunday school and Vacation Bible School classes, worked with the ladies group to prepare The Ridgeway Church Cookbook, as well as numerous other activities, including taking treats to the staff of Bastrop Nursing Home and Lost Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mary June Swift Pryor, long time resident of Duncanville and Bastrop, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Leon Pryor, Sr.; her parents, Roy Cantrell and Mable Estelle Swift, and her brother, Doyle Edward Swift.

She is survived by her three daughters; Rebecca Gail Pryor Eller and husband, Gary Lynn Eller, Melodi Lynn Diamond, and Leslie Doyleen Diamond Garcia and husband, Pat Garcia; her son, Freddie Leon Pryor, Jr. and wife, Stephanie D’Ann McRee Pryor; her grandchildren, Michael and Libby Caldwell, Shannon Eller, Gennifer Eller, Sarah and Mathew Cogswell, Destiny Pryor, Jacob Pryor, Jimmy Diamond, Patricia Manning, Stacee Wright, Joe Diamond, Judy Diamond, and Monica Diamond, as well as numerous greatgrandchildren, and her sister, Jean Fincher and husband, Waldo D. Fincher.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
