Frances Marie Zoch

Funeral services for Frances Zoch, 81, of Winchester, Texas, were held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Winchester with Rev. Nate Hill officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Frances Marie (Krause) Zoch was born on January 1, 1935 in the Knobbs Branch Community of Lee County, Texas. She was the daughter of Carl Herbert Krause and Olga Marie (Menzel) Krause. Frances was baptized on January 6, 1935 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin, Texas by Rev. Herman Schmidt and confirmed on March 21, 1948 also at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin by Rev. Paul Eifert. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 145:18-19, “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them”. Frances was united in marriage to Melvin W. Zoch on June 7, 1953 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin by Rev. Arthur Arndt. They were blessed with three children, Judy, James and Laverne. Frances was a loving and devoted homemaker who helped her husband work in the fields and raised their children. She enjoyed sewing, canning, cooking, gardening and baking, especially coffee cakes and many cookies. She was always ready to go to church on Sunday mornings. Frances passed away the evening of Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert & Olga Krause; her stepmother, Laura Krause; her husband of nearly 50 years, Melvin W. Zoch; her son-in-law, Ronnie Hobratschk and her daughter-in-law, Josie Zoch.

Frances is survived by her three children, Judy Boriack & her husband, Delvin of Northrup, James F. Zoch & his wife, Susan of Giddings and Laverne Schulze and her husband, Erwin R. of Giddings; four grandchildren, Cale Boriack & his wife, Anna, Ordway Boriack & his wife, Lindsey, Jenny Fajkus & her husband, Casey and Jamie Zoch; five step-grandchildren, Ashley Meyers & her husband, James, Abby Morrison & her husband, C.J., Jon Knippa & his wife, Rachel, Mark Schulze and Christina Bradshaw & her husband, Clyde; four great grandchildren, Ellie Boriack, Evan Boriack, Emilia Boriack and Zephaniah Boriack; thirteen step great grandchildren, Luke Meyers, Layla Meyers, Jaxon Bernstein, Jacob Morrison, Evan Schulze, Tabitha Reyna, SiAnna Schulze, Fiona Schulze, Adara Reyna, Iss Schulze, Henry Preston Reyna, Miley Reyna and Remi Reyna; three brothers, Ludwig Krause & his wife, Edna of Northrup, Gilbert Krause & his wife, Dorothy of Giddings and Monroe Krause & his wife, Eleanor of Pflugerville as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 700 Frio Street, Winchester, Texas 78945 or the charity of one’s choice.
