Julius Louis Frankeny

Julius Louis Frankeny, 84, passed away in Bryan, TX Saturday, July 9, 2016. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13, from 6 to 8 pm at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral will be held at the Lexington United Methodist Church Thursday at 10 am. Reverend Trey Comstock will preside over services. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery.

Julius Louis Frankeny was born in McKees Rock, Pennsylvania on June 8, 1932 to his parents Julius Nicholas and Hidagarde Alvera (Krause) Frankeny. He was a graduate of Galveston Ball High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army serving in the Korean War as an Engineer for the Military. After serving, he graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Julius worked for Dow Chemical for most of his career, including stints at Rocky Flats in the Denver CO. area and finishing at the Houston office, where he retired from Dow. After retirement, he moved to his ranch outside of Lexington, Texas to raise cattle and harvest pecans, both carrying on in his father’s footsteps.

Jule was preceded in death by both parents, Julius and Hida Frankeny; and his spouses Joyce Maureen O’Berry-Frankeny, and Gloria Joy Kennedy Crumpler-Frankeny.

He is survived by his spouse, Orean Frankeny; his children, Kevin Frankeny and spouse Regina, Terri Frankeny-Walker, Cheryl Frankeny and spouse Joe Baucum, and Nick Frankeny; grandchildren, JT Frankeny, Rachel Frankeny, Kathryn Frankeny, Steven Frankeny, Kirk Walker, Lucas Walker, Trinity Elliott, Laurin Baucum-Eades, Emily Baucum, Collier Baucum, Ryker Frankeny, and Raelyn Frankeny; great grandchildren, Austin Praetorius, Kaden Eades, Rhea Eades, and Drake Eades; two brothers, Jerry Frankeny, and Richard Frankeny; and a sister Karen Frankeny-Warren.

Pallbearers will be Richard Frankeny, JT Frankeny, Bruner Leutz, Frank (Stormy) King, Ashley Eades, Joe Baucum, Nick Frankeny, and Kevin Frankeny.
