Robert “Bill” William Lange, Sr.

Funeral services for Robert “Bill” Lange, Sr., 75, of Warda are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda with Rev. Dennis Tegtmeier officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.

Robert William Lange was born on August 6, 1940 in Brenham, Texas, the son of Chester Eugene Lange and Earle Adair (Wasson) Lange. He was baptized on October 11, 1953 at the First Baptist Church in Brenham by Rev. J. Earl Bryant and was confirmed in July of 1961 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda by Rev. H.O. Hartfield. Bill graduated from Brenham High School and attended Blinn College. He was united in marriage to Jo Ann Marilyn Teinert on February 4, 1961 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda by Rev. H. O. Hartfield. He was the General Manager for Lange Distributing in Brenham for many years. He had been an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent, Financial Steward and a member of the Men’s Club. Bill was a former Fayette County Election Judge and a proud Son of the Republic of Texas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking care of his cattle and spending time with his family. Bill passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Park Place Care Center in Georgetown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.E. “Gene” & Earle Adair “Potsy” Lange; his parents-in-law, John & Renata Teinert; his sister-in-law, Donna Lange and his brother-in-law, Frank Herbert.

Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jo Ann Lange of Warda; three sons, Robbie & Karen Lange of Georgetown, Kevin & Sandra Lange of Cypress and Patrick Lange & Meghan Jenke of Bryan; five grandchildren, Trey, Asa & Grace Lange of Georgetown and Alexa & Raina Lange of Cypress; his brother, Gary & Ruby Lange of Brenham; his sister, Dee & Larry Glaesmann of Brenham; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn & Woody Butler of Austin and Delores Herbert of La Grange, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Butler, Shannon Kasper, Asa Lange, Dant Lange, Trey Lange and Robert Lee Pennington. Honorary pallbearers will be Arnold Kasper, Shea Kasper, Jerry Kingsbery, Robert Lehmann and Freddie Malke.

Memorials may be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, to Faith Lutheran High School in care of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda, or to the charity of one’s choice.
